Beer Style Diagram - Crate & Barrel

I have one framed in my 'tasting room'. Its a nice graphic and a conversation starter.

    Staying in Columbus

Yeah, after looking at a map Bobs is a lot further than I thought. If you're making a night of it I'd head to the Short North or Brewery District. The short north has more bars and almost all of the restaurants are awesome.

    Staying in Columbus

If you're staying on the North Side, the closest place I can think of is Bob's Bar. They have a ton of great beer and its cheap. The area isn't all that great but if the women are going shopping, convince them to go to Easton instead of Polaris, then a mile down the road to Bobs Bar...

Making an 8% ABV into 4%???

I've done this before with a wheat beer. In fact its on tap right now. Brewed up 7.5 gallons of wort (Max I could do with my BIAB system). SG of around 1.075. Split the 7.5 gallons into 2 fermentors, topped up each of them to 5 gallons and pitched yeast in each vessel. Both beers came out...

    BIAB bag lift suggestions

This is how i do it as well and its easy to get 70-75% efficiency with a double crush and a light press from the kettle lid. If I need higher efficiency I'll pour sparge water over the grain after I press it to get anything remaining but this is only if I'm dealing with 16lbs of grain or more...

    Kegconnection

Ordered custom kits from them twice and both times the orders were exactly as I expected. Shipping was quite cheap and arrived in about a week. I'd recommend them.

Can you bruise beer when kegging

Beer is pretty resilient especially when its young. A few bruises aren't a big deal but you need to be really careful of the head. Bumping the soft spot that can lead to long term damage.

Trogner Bros talk Nugget Nectar on the BN

Planning on the hop schedule you posted in the other NN thread. Looks awesome. Did you still do a 90 minute boil with the reduced amount of pilsner malt?

Trogner Bros talk Nugget Nectar on the BN

Any updates RedSkinFan? Would you use this recipe over your other ones? I'm brewing this on Wednesday and finalizing the ingredients based on your previous recipes.

    Outdoor burners

I've got an SQ-14 and it works great. The stand will take quite a bit of weight which is nice since I BIAB. $52 on amazon and its seems fairly light on the propane. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009JXYQ4/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Does anyone have any feedback on these?

$30 to ship? ouch. That picture does not look like a 25 gallon kettle either. That price seems way too cheap if it really is 100 quarts, even with the ridiculous shipping.

A Starter is a Beautiful Thing

I'm going to give this a shot soon. The Biscuit might be what I've been missing. Thanks!

A Starter is a Beautiful Thing

Awesome beer! I would love to see your recipe. Neither of my CIA clones have been quite right.

    BIAB Centennial Blonde

I've done this method a few times and it worked great. Typically, if I have a large grain bill I'll mash in ~6 gallons of water and either dunk sparge in a bottling bucket with 1.5-2 gallons of water heated on my stove to 175. Or if my 'first runnings' are pretty close to SG I'll simply...

My GE 7.0 cu ft keezer build

4 ball locks will fit on the floor plus a 5lb co2 bottle. The freezer comes with a removable basket that works awesome for bottles.

    Moving beer?

If you have a Co2 bottle handy I'd probably try and purge any oxygen from the fermentor when you arrive. A move that far is bound to disrupt the built up Co2 layer and an oxidized dobblebock will be pretty disappointing.

    Gas Distributor Opinions Please

I have 2 of the keg connection ones, attached to each other to make a 4 port manifold. Never had a single issue, in fact I've been very happy with the quality of all of keg connection's equipment. Would recommend them to anyone.

    Naturally Carbing a Partial Keg

I think you'll be better off just carbing it all in the keg and then bottling what you what off of the tap when it's ready. Seems more predictable.
