    Your worst home brewing mishap?

I had a lead filled hydrometer break in my batch. I still bottled it avoiding the glass and lead bbs. After 3 weeks it still tasted like metal.

    bottling an infected beer

Reporting back: After three weeks the beer was a bit sour, but clear and drinkable. The plastic bottles held up and the carbonation was fine.

How do I clean this mess?

If you are not in a rush, you could let it dehydrate, thus making the bits smaller.

    15 minute boil?

I went all-grain last weekend, but today I did a 20 minute boil. My entire brewday was 55 minutes! 0: Add 3 gallons of water to the pot, fire the burner. Get hops and extracts ready. 15: Water is boiling. Add 2 lbs DME, 2 oz of Simcoe. 25: 8 lbs LME, 2 oz. of Citra. 35: 3 oz. of Simcoe with...

    5 Gal BIAB Kettle Size

+1 I used to do a full mash (BIAB), but my efficiency sucked. I have since halved the water and use half to mash and half to sparge. My efficiency has improved. I have done up to a 15 pound grain bill with this method.

    bottling an infected beer

No, I wasn't. Luckily I packaged this beer in plastic bottles. Hopefully the plastic will hold. I made sure to purge all of the oxygen from the bottles before I capped them. I might have some gushers. Experiment in progress...

    bottling an infected beer

I opened my bucket yesterday to an infection. It wasn't infected before I dry hopped it, so it must have been a poorly cleaned hop bag. I went ahead and transferred to my bottling bucket, keeping the infection on top well away from the tube. We'll see how it tastes in a few weeks. I'm not...

Anyone else annoyed with newer breweries using cans?

The only reason I like cans are; they are lighter, you can take them to the beach/pool and you can pack them in and pack them out more easily.

    BIAB stand under construction.

Nice work. It that solely for draining or will you put a burner under it?

American IPA Sweatpants Boner - Double-dry hopped Simcoe IPA

"Medium-bodied malt profile with massive pine aroma and flavor." Don't forget the cat piss! I did a Simcoe SMaSH earlier this summer and it was grand. I didn't dry hop as aggressively as you did. Does it make that much difference, as it is expensive.
