    So who's brewing this weekend?

Hope it went well for you. Seems like I always have a few slight mishaps, mostly wort spills. I did get my efficiency up 10%. Still only 61% but a nice jump:rockin: I split my grains between 2 five gallon pots, with 3 gallons each for my mash, and kept them split for the boil.

BIAB bag drain and sueeze bucket (with a pic)

Damn, I thought I had something unique.;) That's exactly what I did. I only do 5 gallon batches so the bag fits very nicely.

BIAB bag drain and sueeze bucket (with a pic)

I took an idea from a podcast, the person wanted to know if he could drill hundreds of holes in a bucket and use that as a " brew bag". I took a bucket and drilled lots of holes in the bottom, when you set into another bucket it leaves abou 3 inches for your grain bag to drain. ThEn I used a...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I am brewing up 5 gallons of IPA Saturday. I do BIAB and I'm really working on my efficiency. Man I love brew days!:ban:

    How much do you spend?

I do 5 gallon batches and they have run me $25 to $35. I buy all my grains, hops, and yeast at the LHBS as I need them, not in bulk. Those prices are for ingredients only, and ice. Not bad for 2 cases of good beer :rockin:

    high ferm temp

Same as skemp45, but also What temp. was it? I've read high temps can lead to "off" flavors, but I have done a few batches in the mid 70's and never had what your describing.

    Video Games

I think all the DRM rumors were just that. Even if they were true, it sure isn't now. I don't know who's running Xbox Live but they've changed for the better. Or will be, there letting your Gold account be shared by a household, no "Family Plan bs, and there getting rid of Micro Soft Points...

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

Just bottled mine. Followed the recipe pretty closely, except I used S-04, no particular reason why. I didn't get very good efficiency 51% according to BeerSmith, but the sample tasted really good :rockin: Still, it got down to 1.002 frome 1.046, which figures at 6% after temp. adjust...

Should I add another pack of S-04?

I will remember to use the Mr Malty calculator next time :mug:

First attempt at BIAB (and all grain in general)

I went from a steeping kit right to BIAB. If you have a 7 gallon brew pot, use that. You can handle a 13-14 lb. grain bill easy. I use to 5 gallon and split the grain bill. You can still get pretty good efficiency. 75% is not to hard to hit. Here is a link for a great turtorial, that really...

Should I add another pack of S-04?

I made a 5 gallon batch of a IPA, and pitched 1 pack of dry S-04. Later I was putting the recipe into Beer Smith and it said I should have used 2. It has been in primary for 10 days and initial fermentation (bubbling) has stopped. So should I pitch another, or just leave it be?

    New Brewer in Colorado

Welcome! I am a noob too. Just racked my 4th batch a few days ago. It is a great hobby and it makes beer :rockin:

Recipe critique, thank you in advance.

I will move the hops to 30, and will take your advice on the temp and boil. Thank you. Yeah I didn't want to get complicated and screw it up :fro:

Recipe critique, thank you in advance.

I have a handful of batches under my belt, and I want to do a Belgian for a friends anniversary. Please let me know what you think of this recipe, and any suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks much. :mug: 5.0 gallon BIAB 12 lbs. Pilsner 2 Row 1.5 lbs. Belgian Candy Sugar (amber)...
