Good for you for getting back on the bike. Sorry to hear about the health issues, man that sucks! But good for you! I'll find you and follow on Strava.

So I got back on the bike after a 7 year hiatus because of a hernia I just wouldn't take the time out of my life to get fixed. I have now go it fixed and to be honest have had all kinds of pain and problems since then but I digress. So back on the bike and training for a 540mi ride in July...
More like underletting. where as the liquid is being transferred into the mash vessel without any "added" exposure to air. What you do on top of the mash/sparge/top water will help reduce exposure as well, that has yet to be discussed. But this will sit ON the mash UNDER the top liquid sparge...
I have 1 hanging on the wall in my brewery and LOVE it for wine and cider. I tend to brew much larger batches of BEER so I wouldn't ever use it for beer but its awesome for what I use it for. Works like a charm! SEEMLESS OMHO

Being able to sit the sparge system on the mash top and not "sparging" in terms of letting the sparge water fall through the air picking up even more O2 is all. Sticking with the LODO also in terms of LOW O2 not Void of O2 :)

The pump can drain the liquid and run dry. If the ball valve is above the output it will continue to PUSH and the liquid will stay in the pump.

Its not going to make a difference I don't think. Its nice to have them in motion but that can be done with just a simple swirl from time to time. Totally up to you. One thing to think about though with them being motionless is you will be able to see any fermentation start.

Love the Mash Cap. The one we sell was developed with the help of a couple well known members here on HBT. I made some connection changes and options additions so it can be really versatile. It is a game changer IMHO.

Yes you can. If the pump has liquid in it. I do it all the time. There is nothing saying the liquid has to be moving. It just has to be there to keep the pump veins/housing lubricated is all.
Side note. I used the same March pump on my system for well over 15 years without fail. Closed the...
It may be lagging. Pitching at 80* although not ideal wont kill that yeast. just being a little older can make it a slow starter but it should still eat. I personally would give it another 24 and then check your gravity if you are not seeing any visible signs. Keep in mind on a plate you wont...
Yes. Do a quick clean, then step it up and make a monster starter and you'll be fine. I used to do it all the time. I don't personally use Gelatin any more but it was a mainstay in my brewery for 15 years.

I would personally sparge it the same way I sparge a Corn Whiskey mash. A purpose built False Bottom and a Whirlpool Master paddle :) works like a charm..

I can't answer for sure but I would "THINK" that the passing of CO2 through the hops for this time would drive off the aromas. Like I said I would just be speculating but that would be my thought. Obviously to combat this you would likely just need to add more hops in your suspended bag...
