Winter Seasonal Beer Holly (Christmas Ale)

Me too. Brewed on 9/20 and it's finally getting where I wanted it to be!

Winter Seasonal Beer Holly (Christmas Ale)

If you go this route you will certainly get some spice, but it won't be anything like what you'd get if it sat around for a month or so. For your situation, I would just add the spices once active fermentation stops to give yourself a fighting chance.

British Brown Ale Nut Brown AG

That should be great! I have gone grain to class in four weeks with this recipe and it turned out great.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I am guessing it is a typo, but you have Pin 9 listed twice. Channel A should be on 8 and Channel B should be on 9. Switch on 7.

Belgian Dubbel Award Winning Dubbel XL (40th batch)

I brewed up a six gallon batch of this yesterday, but I made a few adjustments. The Styrian Golding crop this year was apparently awful, so the ounce that I bought had an AA of 1.4 % o_o I swapped the Goldings for Vanguard, WLP530 for WLP500, and I used D90 candi sugar. I pitched at 65*F...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped me out over the last few weeks. Everything is done and running smoothly. I took quite a few pictures of the finished product, so if anyone would like to see them the album is here!

WLP500 second stage starter: am I about to have a mess on my hands?

That's impressive! I ended up not having any issues either, it just looked scary for a minute there...

WLP500 second stage starter: am I about to have a mess on my hands?

No this is awesome! Exactly what I was looking for. It seems as though I asked the right guy the right questions. Also sounds like I picked the right yeast for my dubbel. I am looking forward to see how it turns out. And now I kinda wanna make a quad...

WLP500 second stage starter: am I about to have a mess on my hands?

What would you say are the biggest differences between 500 and 540? Flavor, aroma, or otherwise.

WLP500 second stage starter: am I about to have a mess on my hands?

It's a six gallon batch of a 1.066 dubbel. Based on the viability, Mr. Malty says I actually needed a 3.2 L starter. It seems like a lot, but I intend to harvest some of the yeast from the starter, so I went ahead and did the whole 3L.

WLP500 second stage starter: am I about to have a mess on my hands?

Good to know! I was on the fence between 500 and 530, now I am glad I went with the former. On an unrelated note, my starter smells like a banana farm. Which is pretty sweet.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

It sounds like those capacitors were already on the proto shield that he used. I imagine just to try to clean up any power ripples since the shield could be used for any number of projects. He actually mentions in the write up that he did not need them. Unless your power supply is crummy I...

WLP500 second stage starter: am I about to have a mess on my hands?

Thanks for all the moral support, but the starter made it through the night without incident. Should have RDWHAHB. Or perhaps I had already had too many...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

It looks like the second diagram in that post is the correct one. That diagram matches the documentation for the PinOut that shows D13, D11, and D10 being used for the LCD. It also has the pull-up resistors. I am not sure which version you are talking about that has LEDs. Neither of those...

WLP500 second stage starter: am I about to have a mess on my hands?

I definitely agree, but one time I had a Hefe starter on the stir plate with a 1500mL starter and the thing ended up all over my kitchen. After another hour things look pretty good, so you may be right though. I'm gonna see what kind of bowls I have...

WLP500 second stage starter: am I about to have a mess on my hands?

So last week I did a 1500 mL starter, 1g DME/10mL, of WLP500 Abbey in a 2L flask. During that time I got some bubbles, but nothing in the line of krausen. Today I brewed up stage two, and it ended up around the 1800mL mark. After two hours this is what it looks like... I don't have any...

Yep, I am talking about powerline adapters. I couldn't remember what the official name was, so I went with the opposite of PoE. I got these.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

So I spent about three hours on Friday trying to get WiFi to work properly. After a half hour I had everything working on WiFi and just needed to set a static IP. I stepped away for a few hours and when I came back, WiFi did not work. After two and a half hours of trouble shooting i said F it...
