DIY chiller control, can I just use the temp probe?

so the fan motor looks easy. that is the three wires on the right (low, High, Turbo) Not sure why they ran a seperate wire for each speed yet though. Yellow wire up top is labled COMP L1 goes to the Cap and L2 goes to the outlet

DIY chiller control, can I just use the temp probe?

this is true as long as my garage is over 64*(lowest setting on the control) I dont know how the AC will like being unplugged and plugged back in again... I'll have to see if it comes back on to the power saver when plugged in. Otherwise... gota chop the wires. UGH EDIT: it does come...

DIY chiller control, can I just use the temp probe?

that cool bot thing is pretty "cool" but over $300 ouch lol. guess this might not be as easy as i was hoping it was. I can essentially build the same device for about $75 with a johnson A419 and the worlds smallest heater taped to the probe.

DIY chiller control, can I just use the temp probe?

I would still want thermo control to hold it at 35* or whatever. But I'm guessing the AC's controller already has a built in short cycle timer just need a mechanical on off for the temp probe.

DIY chiller control, can I just use the temp probe?

I am building a Chiller out of a spare AC I had around currently I have it runnning by putting the temp probe in front of a space heater... On eco mode it runs perfectly. shuts off the condenser fan and compressor when the probe is cold and turns everything on at once when the probe is hot...

Brewers Hardware 15 Gallon Jacketed Unboxing

About the 7 gallon mark.... But I have an idea about this. There is a spare 1.5" triclamp port in the lid. If I get a nice long thermowell I can reach down from the top for the jacket pump. I haven't got as far as measuring the distance down to the 5 gallon mark yet though. The cone is...

    CO2 Leak detector - inline

I had a chance to check these things out.... Looks about what i was looking for. Might have to bypass the bubbler when doing keg transfers and such as I'm not sure about high flow... Also I haven't verified that these can take the 12-20psi we need in a kegerator.

    CO2 Leak detector - inline

Water supports organic growth. It also absorbes co2 and might evaporate into the air supply. Just as quick thoughts... It might be fine

    CO2 Leak detector - inline

l had an idea last night of building a little jar that my kegerator feed CO2 flows thru that I can see the Co2 bubbling up thru a liquid on its way to the kegerator... get a better idea of C02 use. But Not sure what liquid I could use without contaminating the gas and if its a good idea or...

I ended up making the cart. Great idea... Just not sure how I am going to attach the fermentor to the wood yet. I will make a holder for the CO2 bottle on the cart and I am making another cart to slide inside this one to hold the CIP pump and tank. Its coming along, Good news is its all...

Brewers Hardware 15 Gallon Jacketed Unboxing

The current plan is to swap the Blow off tube for my sterilized CIP ball. The CIP ball will then have a 1.5" cap(a few came with the conical) on it to pressure seal the vessel until time to clean. The More beer pressure gauge I didn't much like the plastic quick disconnect. But I found a...

    All Stainless Corny CIP System

good to know, I bought the high pressure, low flow pump from HF... I guess the wrong one. I will try this one... The cool water rating worries me a bit but sounds like it holds up ok. I have heard of grease coating on brewery parts with a seal failing :/ If anyone has this pump it claims...

Brewers Hardware CIP, is this correct?

I ghetto plumbed my pump a HF 550GPH 50PSI pump to this thing and I wasn't as impressed as I though I would be.... Is this correct? I would have expected it to be more "aggressive" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrqQnk6E49w <iframe width="420" height="315"...

I'm actually pretty sure BH waved the shipping fee altogether. I can't imagine there are that many factories in China that make conicals. Maby two or three at the most. These Chinese companies are rockstar at cranking out stainless products and being a nitch market not sure what the demand...

Ok, I can see how that would be way more stable and not risk buckling a leg. I guess you just drilled the triclamp feet and screwed though? not much meat down there to attach to the board.

Sure, I feel the top down pic makes it look more "wavy" than it is. But there are dents in the wall from the jacketing. Welds look good though. I made every weld on my brewery. But I didn't feel comfortable making the fermentor.
