Thats exactly how the bench capper works. It doesn't grab the bottle in any way... It just pushes downward on the bottle which crimps the cap.

Sounds like a similar situation I had with 75+ Abita bottles I had saved. The section of the bottle where the wing capper grasps on to wasn't enough to allow adequate pressure to crimp the cap. I ended buying a cheap bench capper and that saved the day!!!

I think you are talking about Love Controllers. Do a search on the board here and you will find a ton of information. They do practically the same thing as the temperature controllers that "jfrizzle" linked you too. Good luck!

I use pellet hops for dry hopping and even after weighing them down with marbles, they still float and move around. I'll look one day and it'll be at the top of the fermenter and then it'll disappear for a few days. Guess it is bobbing around in there.... hahah
