I read that in order to make a good black and tan the FG needs to be different for the 2 beers being mixed. How different. One more quicky, how much does corn sugar lower the fg? I'll be using about 5% but every calculator I use doesn't factor the fg drop in when adding simple sugars.

I've read that is better to do the lighter hopped beer first because of hop debris settling in the cake. I don't have first hand experience with this though. Someone who does a lot of yeast reusing would know better.

Not 100% on the style, but that dies sound about right. Everywhere I look lists it as a fruit beer, but i wouldn't simplify it like that. Definitely sour, definitely fruity. Regardless is one of my favorites.
