Need to solve foamy First Pour for converted chest freezer kegerator

Hey guys, I am tired of pouring out my first pour that comes out foamy and have finally decided to do something about it. This happens with both commercial kegs and corny keg homebrews. I plan on adding an EvaDry E500 dehumidifier to combine with a fan to circulate the air better. I created the...

Steps when rekegging a home brew corny keg???

So do you use PBW (Brew Wash) and something like Iodophor each time? Or do you just sanitize each time unless it needs to be clean. It's not like the keg has been sitting around I just finished off the first batch and it has been sitting in the kegerator.

Steps when rekegging a home brew corny keg???

I finished my first batch of home brew and am going to refill my 5 gal ball lock corny keg with a new batch. Obviously I am going to remove the leftovers from the bottom of the keg, and sanitize the entire keg and seal/top. Do I need to remove the posts and clean the dip tube every time I...

Did you have to sand it down, or did you paint right over the factory paint?

I used the 7/8" bit and the shanks fit tight and perfect. Let me know how that other Rustoleum paint works!

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

John, I actually have my temp controller on the outside of the unit. I just put two finish nails into the wood collar on the back of the unit and hung from there. I ran the sensor probe in through the backside, in between the lid and the collar (didnt drill anything additional). I did...

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

I did sand down the fridge with a medium grain sandpaper. I didn't sand away the texture that I think you are talking about, just the semi-glossy finish. It may be possible that you can use that paint without sanding but that is the way I did it. I didn't even sand off all the paint or...

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

Hi John, I used Rust-Oleum Appliance Epoxy spray paint. It really looks amazing and appears as if it was bought this way. I would highly recommend that you do this outdoors, the paint floats around and sticks to everything. I am not sure why people spray painted indoors in the first place but...

Did I mess up my first brew?

I know I am trying to figure out how to delete the post out of the General Brewing questions forums, noob mistake. Should have just been posted in the Fermentation thread.

Did I mess up my first brew?

Azscoob, so since I did not add hops when I turned the burner off and it is the next morning, do you agree that I should wait until 2nd fermentation to add all hops, or should I add 1 oz now during primary and 2 oz during secondary?

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

So I finished the construction of the kegerator. Was a fun project and I am satisfied with the results. Thanks to all the help from QUAFFER and several other forums on HomeBrewTalk. Currently as you can see there is only one tap set up, but as I can afford more faucets I will be adding on 5...

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

First off I must say your setup is quite impressive. I am basing my build off many of the steps you took. I have painted my chest freezer black, and cut and stained my collar today. There is a ways to go but I finally acquired all of my parts from the construction pieces to a kit from...
