    Switch Wiring for 240v Contactor

Here's the contactor I purchased: ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J4Z8SZU/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 and here's the switches:

    Switch Wiring for 240v Contactor

I was looking at this diagram I found which spurred on my original question, but it also applies to the additional contactors I have connected to my element outlets. I have illuminated selector switches that I want to connect to each element contactor so (1) I can control the power to them (2)...

    Switch Wiring for 240v Contactor

I've got a 240v 40a 2-Pole Contactor that I want to use in conjunction with a rotary selector switch as the main power switch to my control panel. I've got the two hot leads from the spa panel connected to the contactor and then to my bus bars. I'm confused on how to wire the switch though...

    Free console enclosure

Ah man! this would've been the perfect enclosure to use at the beginning of my build instead of my old plastic toolbox. Oh well! Thanks for the generous offer to the community BrunDog

Which comes first - the contactor or the bus bar?

Yes, sort of... I understand the "step down" ability of utilizing a contactor when implementing lower rated switches to handle the loads instead of trying to find 30-50a switches/buttons to power things on and off. What I was attempting to find out is really how many contactors I need to be...

Which comes first - the contactor or the bus bar?

To power elements, SSRs, PIDs, etc... Otherwise how would I run power to all of these?

Which comes first - the contactor or the bus bar?

I've got 240v & 120v power coming from my spa panel into my control panel. I have the GFCI protected 120v going directly to bus bars that power a split outlet for my two pumps. I would like to start wiring my contactors, ssrs, din rail breakers, and fuses but couldn't find a straight answer on...

Who wants to check my spa panel wiring?

+1000 on that sentiment. In particular, I appreciate your graciousness toward those of us who are trying to learn and be safe at the same time. Too often, for homebrewers like me who do not have a background as an electrician or engineer get ripped for asking questions as if we are actively and...

Who wants to check my spa panel wiring?

Ah bummer! Yeah, I suppose you're right then. Thanks for all of your help doug!

Who wants to check my spa panel wiring?

Great! If I was planning on splitting the receptacle and connecting a separate switch to both outlets to control the pumps. Would installing a 20a din rail breaker work as an acceptable switch between the feed and the outlet? Or are you referring to a DPST switch?

Who wants to check my spa panel wiring?

Thanks for the thorough explanation. As I parse through this I have one question that I'm hoping will simplify my control panel wiring based on your post above: My plan was to wire the 120v breaker directly to the GFCI outlet receptacle that my pumps will plug into and that receptacle only. I...

    SSR Logistical Questions

    (1) I was going to directly control the heating element in the HLT just for hitting strike temp then using one of the EZBoils to control the rims tube and mash temp. (2) But I feel like I read somewhere that I could use a three-way selector switch to utilize one EZBoil and switch between...

Who wants to check my spa panel wiring?

Can you explain why/how you mean re: swapping the red & black so they're on the same phase? (I'm ignorant). I wired this up following a wiring diagram and it didn't mention anything about that. How do I wire the neutrals inside the control panel without recombining? I planned on using separate...

Who wants to check my spa panel wiring?

I believe this is correct wiring of my GFCI protected spa panel as well as the additional 120v breaker that will be connected to/protected by my 20a GFCI outlet. The more vibrant colored wires are from a 30a dryer outlet and connected to the 50a GFCI breaker then run into my control panel...

    SSR Logistical Questions

Which is exactly why I'm asking... I've got some P-J diagrams, Doug293cz diagrams, etc. that I'm looking at prior to wiring everything together. I know electricity is no joke, which is why I'm asking questions, being thorough and careful.

    SSR Logistical Questions

I am building a 30a 240v control panel to power (1) 4500w 240v element in the HLT (1) 5500w 240v element in the BK, a 1500w element in my RIMS tube, 2 Auber EZBoils, and a couple of pumps. I have had a lot of my other questions answered before I start wiring everything together. I plan on...

Wire elements direct to switches, PID/relay, or outlets?

Beautiful. They are 240v 40a. Thanks for everyone's help!

Wire elements direct to switches, PID/relay, or outlets?

Ok, finally made it to what I initially needed to know! (my fault for sure for the lack of clarity, I'm learning and obviously trying to be overly cautious with the set up) I can use my 10a selector switches to power on/off the contactors for the elements and I don't need to purchase the relays...
