    Time to step up my

One of the guys had his stuff shipped over so all kinds. It was just another peace keeping BS deployment like all the rest. I wasnt impressed with Egypt or the surrounding area. Just another armpit of the world in my opinion, maybe Uncle Sam has clouded my judgement but oh well.

    Time to step up my

Served 8 years in the U.S. Cavalry as a Scout and learned how to brew beer on a deployment to Egypt. Good luck to ya. I'd do it again if given the chance, had a blast and met a lot of good friends. Even with all the BS! Cheers!

    Using Dishwasher to sanitize?

I typically keg my beer but when I do bottle I use my dishwasher to santize my bottles. I make sure the dishwasher is set for Hot Prewash and have never had an issue. I also make it habit to clean my bottles individually after I pour a beer. I'm sure there are guys here that will frown upon...

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Currently in the middle of my mash. I use Brew Pal and iBrewmaster for the iPhone as my brewing software and noticed neither have Motueka or Soachi Ace in the Hops database anyone else notice this? No big deal I primarily use the software for strike and sparge volumes. Not very common...

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

I got the day off on Friday, I'm planning on brewing this beer and smokin' some ribs. This recipe gave me the idea to try the Simply Cranberry in my "Turkey Chaser" Cranberry Ale I brew around Thanksgiving, thanks! :mug:

    HLT using bottling bucket

I figure this is the best place for this question or maybe the DIY section. Did some searching and haven't found an answer. Good possibility I'm not searching correctly. Anyways I have been thinking about turning my plastic bottling bucket into a HLT. I have seen videos where guys overseas use...

What's your occupation: Engineer or Non-Engineer

I would disagree with this, a degree is nothing more than an initiation process and to prove you can handle some type of work load. Just because it says "technology" in your degree doesn't mean you can't be an Engineer. You can get your PE (Professional Engineer) license with "technology" in...

    Holiday Brewing

My vote would be a Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Stout hands down.... If you don't like PB just do the Chocolate Oatmeal Stout, or a coffee stout. I know they might not be session worthy........ oh well

    obsession

I have shopped at keystone but now I tend to buy from Wine and Beer Makers Outlet in Coopersburg. It is closer to my house even though he doesn't have as big of a selection as Keystone. And no I'm not a member of the club, currently not a member of any homebrew club.

pumpkin ale with no pumpkin flavor

I use whole spices (cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg) with 15 min left in boil and remove at flame out. I have had success with spice flavor by doing this. Just brewed a pumpkin ale this past weekend used same technique but this time I added some pumpkin pie spice and more whole spices at flame...

Hazelnut Liquid Extract way to strong. Will it mellow over time???

I wouldn't call it quits on extracts after your first attempt. Next time try adding the extract into the fermenter. Instead of adding the day you keg your beer, try adding the extract a few days before kegging it will help to mellow the flavor a bit. Just my $0.02 :tank:

    My first recipe: Pumpkin Ale

How about Midnight Moon Pumpkin Ale or Midnight Hill Pumpkin Ale. You got to let me know how it turns out I might have to try this. Sounds good. When you brewing it? Sooner than later I hope.
