Help me Pick Beers from CO

Great Divide in Denver itself. http://www.greatdivide.com/ Think you'll find that it's your type of brewery Great range of stouts, porters, scotch ales, etc If you are into barleywines then a wood aged Old Ruffian. Brought it back to Aus and very much enjoyed.

    Brewhemoth conicals?

Definitely agree. You would need the legs to be welded to the fermenter, not bolted. Plus they could do with support between legs given their length and weight they need to support.

    Brewhemoth conicals?

Mine made it all the way to Australia, luckily enough without damage. However, you should have seen the state of the box. The 4' lid fell out onto the road whilst carrying it to the car to take home. Probably lucky all the parts were still in there. Sympathy for having your long wait spoilt.

    Recommend recipe for first BIAB

Amerilager 80% Pale Malt/20% Flaked Maize (90/10 Pale/Carapils for you don't want maize) Magnum @60min/Hallertauer @15min for 20 - 24 IBU US05 @ 61-62F The simpler the better for the first time. Less variables to consider and reflect upon. Enjoy.

Number of crafted beers here in Aus are making nice beers with Galaxy. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

    What's your favorite Micro brewery.

On my last trip over to the 'States' (of 6 weeks and 11 states) managed to drink/taste 300+ plus beers. My favourite Brewery for their range and quality was Great Divide, Co.

    Brewery names--what's your story?

Chute Inn I live in Chute St, but also allows a play on words, as in I'll shoot in for a quick one. Hence, the logo has " Shoot In - For fine hand crafted beer"

    Tri-Clamp Brewhemoth Build

Will do! One thing different in mine is the adjustable legs. The legs aren't solid, all have slots from top to bottom. This will allow the back leg to be shorter, if need be, to accommodate the compressor hump. (pics to follow once set up)

    Tri-Clamp Brewhemoth Build

Thanks for this post, and thread, Joe. It has really helped in ordering/setting up my brewhemoth. Especially as I've placed my order in US and it got flown over the little lake we know as the Pacific Ocean. Cheers Ken:tank:

    Glacier Conical Fermentor

Matt Don't know much about the Glacier fermentors, but have just ordered a Brewhemoth with tri-clover fittings. Seems to me to be both economical and adaptable. And much cheaper than Blichmans and More Beer http://brewhemoth.com/

Is there a way to know yeast infected before pitching?

For me, infections tend to smell and taste like vinegar, and therefore easy and quickly disposable. Other smells and tastes, such as apple, are characteristics of poor yeast management and use. my 2c
