    CFC troubles

Who here is using a counter flow chiller? I bought the exhillerator a few months back because cooling is my least favorite part of the brew day but I have been less then impressed. I had to add a bleeder valve in order to get the ring to work first of all. Then I don’t understand how people are...

    IPA possibly too bitter

Agrees with the don’t dump it you never know. I’m a fan of low bitterness beers. You do not have to add hops all throughout the boil. When I’m making NEIPAs or IPAs just to fit my taste I typically is a a very tiny amount of buttering hops or none at all. The majority of my hops are usually...

Did I ruin my heating element?

That’s great news. Do you think it will make it taste burnt and I need to clean it really well?

Did I ruin my heating element?

Hey guys I’m in the middle of a brew day and made a really dumb move. I thought I switched over to my boil kettle and for heat but I turned my HLT heat on. It was glowing bright red when I realized and it looks burnt now. Is it a goner?

    Keezer Co2 usage

No definitely not going through all the kegs. But as I said I use that tank for cleaning the kegs and lines so maybe that’s the problem still I’m thinking one month there might be a problem

    Keezer Co2 usage

Hey guys I was wondering what you all think. I have a 6 tap keezer and I fly through my CO2 really fast like once a month. I use the co2 to pressurize kegs to clean them and the lines as well. I have everything super tight I regularly check and make sure the clamps are screwed as tight as they...

    Pitching onto yeast cake

I know this thread is a few months old but I’ve been super curious about this lately since I’ve started using more liquid yeast. You really just dump your cooled wort into a dirty fermenter? I can’t rap my mind around it with all the stress on cleaning. I do understand that it should be from a...

Farmhouse yeast in a Pale ale

Awesome thanks for the info I thought I might have to turn my cheap plastic fermenter into a dedicated sour fermenter.

    Sabro hops

Hmm maybe it’s weird because it’s really good and coconuty at first.

    Sabro hops

Has anyone ever gotten a soapy taste with Sabro hops? It was my first time using them and I definitely get the coconut which was awesome but then there is this soap aftertaste that’s not so great. I know you can get soap from being on yeast two long but this didn’t even sit in yeast for two weeks.

Can you believe this is milled?

It’s been getting better ragtime I went from a all in one BIAB style vessel to a 3 vessel electric. With losses in the hoses and attempting fly sparging without the right equipment things weren’t going great but progressing each time. Today I switched over to batch sparging and saw a big...

Can you believe this is milled?

No not BIAB my efficiency has not been good lately though so I was wondering about my crush but think it’s probably more adjusting to my new system. I have a cheap mill and when I take the gap any closer it produces a lot of flour and once it’s crushed to this size the mill won’t run it through...

Can you believe this is milled?

I put in a recipe at a home brew shop and picked it up today. They accidentally milled it and I said that was no problem the grain is a complete recipe. I go home and find it looks like this. It looks like maybe someone put it next to a grain mill so I milled it myself. I have been wondering...

eBrewing & Fermentation Setup for $3.5K or Less?

I have the electric SS brewtech setup it cost a fortune when all said and done. You will need to purchase a table as well and nothing really comes complete your going to realize you need more stuff. Mine is in my basement so getting a sink added a lot of money to the set up. If your not in an...

    Anyone Canning Beer?

The only mess problem I had is you need to fill the can to the point that when you put the top on there is some overflow. Other than that nothing I wouldn’t buy the guard.
