I have seen that color before. Perfectly normal.

Fresh squeezed fermenting cider: orange color

Making cider from fresh pressed juice is an extended process. You are going to need to leave that sit for several months for it to clear. Did you add pectic enzyme to the cider before adding the yeast? That would help with clearing the cider. You can add pectic enzyme after fermentation has...

    The decline of the LHBS?

I was just at my LHBS.The only thing I came back with was a 4 Lb. refill on PBW. The price they charge for a 4 Lb. Refill is equal to the cost ($25) of a new 4 Lb. container at Amazon. I recently stepped in to water chemistry and was looking to pick up Epsom Salt, Chalk and Calcium Chloride...

    Chinook IPA instructions differ greatly

Follow the directions that came with the kit. That is going to be your best chance at success. You can debate over how much water to use in a partial boil extract batch. You'll hear arguments over hop utilization vs. the the amount of water used. The real answer is: Boil as much as will fit in...

What CO2 equipment do I need for my kegerator?

With out seeing what you have it's hard to give you an exact list. The Brew Dudes have a series of videos where they talk about kegging and CO2: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=brew+dudes+kegging I have a video where I talk about adding a manifold to my system: As well as as a...

What CO2 equipment do I need for my kegerator?

At a minimum you are going to need a CO2 tank and a regulator. Preferably a dual gauge regulator. Plus all of the tubing. I use 5/16" ID tubing. You should be able to get either the red or blue tubing at either Lowes or Home Depot. Though I bought my last role at Amazon. If you want to serve...

    Roasted Malts and Overnight Mashing

I've done an overnight mash as and experiment with my last 2 batches. They were 2 of the best beers I've made. I would leave it alone. You'll not have any issues.

    All-Grain on a Gas Stove

I use an aluminum 10 gallon stock pot on my stove top. It's taller than it is wide and fits nicely over the largest burner. Which happens to be on the front right. Takes about 45 minutes to heat my strike/sparge water up to temp. Maybe 20 to 30 minutes to heat the wort up to boiling. Not a...

Dissolving DME in cold water to scale up recipe

From my experience, DME does not dissolve in cold water. Even warm water isn't going to do it. If you wold like to see what happens when You add water to DME take a look at one of my videos starting at 2:52 That was only the third brew I had ever done and the first using a large quantity of...

    Pumpkin chaos

I have certainly used all of the ingredients that go in to a pumpkin pie in a beer. Minus the flour, eggs and milk. I don't see any reason you couldn't put the whole pie in. I don't think that is going to have the desired effect though. You would probably need 3 or 4 pies.

Chateau Abbey Monastique, 30# for $17.37 shipped!

It's already milled and there is no way to know how long that has been sitting around in an Amazon warehouse. I've had experiences with discounted kits on Amazon that had been sitting around for months, if not years. The end result was not what I would consider good. If it sounds too good to be...
