    SS Braid Efficiency

I was hitting 85% with a stainless braid. When I first used it, I just crimped the end, and it of course floated, giving me 70%. I thin pushed in a brass threaded hex cap to weigh it down and then I started to get 85%. I also used FiveStar 5.2 in my batches. The end cap (or similar to keep...

Awesome! Welcome to HBT! Keep reading. I've been brewing for 2 years and still find new stuff to read every day... I also realize there's still a lot more I DON't know about this too. You're in good company here.

When you pour your hop filled wort through a strainer

I dump the whole thing into my primary. I tried straining, but the strainers clog... got messy. Plus, why waste a good, delicious hop? After 2 - 3 weeks my brews are always good and clear, then racking to a keg and cold condition for 2 weeks makes them shine up beautifully.

    Anyone use this Thermometer?

I have that thermometer, but the non-stainless version. It works great. I used to use it for my strike water, then the timer for my mash. Taylor's also have great warranties.

All Grain Brewing in a Garage During the Winter?

It's not wise to burn propane indoors, closed up. In fact, it could easily kill you. Natural Gas is ok.... so is electric. But propane needs ventilation.

    My RIMS job

ALMOST DONE. I'm waiting on my last keg for the HLT, but other than, she is done. Leak free, calibrated PID, painted. I feel like a 100 bucks right now. Time to finish off my oatmeal stout keg... I'm working on a better look for the return hose to the MLT. I want to have some sort of...

And finally to show the ball valve placement that will limit the pump output. This is in between the MLT and HEX: Now if the ice will thaw and we get some warmer temps I can paint the frame and finish this whole thing up.
