I'm a dumper also. However there would be no dumping the wort off this cold break. It was all through the wort. I used a whirflock tab like always. Next two beers after this had no problem. It is just not the only time I have had this problem. Bad taste and aroma also. I am trying to see what...

I thought I could add my flaked corn maize straight to the mash? I am not using the grits. I want to know how much flaked corn maize to add to the mash. Are you saying that I need to cook the flaked corn and use the same amount as the grits that the recipe calls for, or do I need more of the...

Irish Red Ale Irish Red (1st place HBT comp)

I have a couple options but am looking for input on the yeast I should use. I could go with London esb. London ale 3, us05. or I can lager with saflager or Mexican lager. I would love to know for the ones that have brewed which yeast they preferred.

Didn't rehydrate. Was slow and lazy. Just need to relax. I always use liquid yeast with statters and am use to it taking off sooner. Thanks Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Home Brew mobile app

I pitched us05 over 24 hours ago and no fermentation. cooled to 62 and in freezer with controller set to 63. Should I be worried or does it take longer with the cooler temps to get started. Nothing yet.
