Another Okie new to the hobby.

You've got that right. So much good stuff that we can't even get in this state because of the liquor laws.

It looks good, thinking of just doing the lid in the chalkboard stuff, and the rest in a rustoleum hammered something. Thanks for the ideas. I finished the collar tonight.

do you record date by brew date or bottling/kegging date?

I do a little label on the carboy with name, brew date, & OG. When it goes to the keg I make another label with all of the info from the carboy tag and I add the FG, kegged date, and ABV. Once I have my chalkboard top on the Keezer I'll also record the information there along with the IBU's...

Another Okie new to the hobby.

Key Kerberbb, we just like the idea of doing all of the brewing and learning to work with the actual grain. Right now doing extract it seems like something is missing step wise. I would like to get a 15 gallon brew kettle and convert it to electric and go ahead and convert the 7.5 gallon SS...

Another Okie new to the hobby.

Hello everyone! Glad to have found such an information packed forum here. My SWMBO and I decided we needed a hobby to do together. We love to cook and grill, so this was sort of a natural progression. Also as we get older we find our selves really wanting to be done with the bar scene...

Is there a plumber in the house?

Its 100% down deeper then the disposal or the trap, I've had that all apart. I believe I found the clean out just right outside under the kitchen sink window. I'm going to go grab a snake. I would imagine I can get something that I can just chuck into my big corded drill? The blended...

Is there a plumber in the house?

I can actually run the water down the left sink, effectively bypassing the disposal, and still get the same effect, so I don't believe there is anything in there. Where does a guy get the sulfur stuff? Nothing else in the house is giving any issues at all. Just the kitchen sink.

Is there a plumber in the house?

Roots wouldn't surprise me. Wonder if the warranty would cover that. Also my wife has quite the mane of hair, but I wouldn't a hair clog would effect the Kitchen sink this much. So you are saying it's possibly something that the disposal moved down line?

Is there a plumber in the house?

So my wife and I bought our first house last January. Fast forward to today and we have a very clogged kitchen sink. Maybe a month ago it acted somewhat clogged, a little Drano and all was good. A few days ago it acted about the same. Drano made zero progress. Made a quick run to Home...

Ready for the Keg, but first a question.

This isn't really a big beer, so the only way to reel if it's ready is by taste huh?

Ready for the Keg, but first a question.

My fridge is around 38. So let me see if I'm clear, rack it to the corny, hit it with co2 to seal, and then I should be good to store it back in my fermentation closet for about a month. I'll then carb, drink, and smile?

    Danstar Nottingham - holy crap!

How long did it take to fire up? I brewed a similar to Edwort HausPale last night, pitched at around 10:00pm and am yet to see anything at all as of right now. I'm at a very steady 65*

This is a specialty dark ale.

Ready for the Keg, but first a question.

Guys I have done all sorts of reading and can't seem to find the answer to this. If I missed it, please point me that direction. I have a NB 1554 clone that has been in primary for 21 days now. I would like to free up the fermenting space. It's a black beer, so I'm not super worried about...

1554 Enlightenment Black ale by New belgium

I am almost 21 days in primary of the AHS clone. Pitched the Wyeast they recommended and it's sat at around 65 for 3 weeks tomorrow. I may go ahead and rack this one to a corni hit it with 30psi and put it back in the brew closet for another week or two. Anyone have any idea how long one like...

My Keezer Build, Help with a Few Odd Collar Parts

With an 8" collar I could see it being a bit hard to clean the bottom, thus the attraction of the collar.

keezer - mounting the collar and dressing up the face

Everything still seals up fine with the factory seal and the door hinges. I was a touch concerned as the lids don't have much mass to smash the factory seal. I'm also not seeing anything in the hardware stores that looks like a decent seal to go from the collar to the chest.

Just filled my first keg - oh yeah!

I just racked my 21 day old Bavarian Hef of it's primary and into the corni, thus marking my first step into home brewdom. I currently have it set at 30 psi around 38* and will back it down tomorrow when I get home from work. I'm about to die waiting to try this stuff. The little sample I...

keezer - mounting the collar and dressing up the face

Can you shed some light as to where and what type of "second" hinges you used. I like this!
