    abv on midwestsupplies and northenbrewer?

there are many variables that will affect what your ABV is going to be. I know NB shows the target OG, you should be able to get a feel for how strong a beer should be based upon that.

American IPA BierMuncher's Outer Limits IPA

I checked it today, it is still at 1.030 I suppose the airlock bubbling could be the gas coming out of suspension since the brew is warmer now. Tastes pretty sweet still too. I think I will leave it warm for another week than cold crash it.

American IPA BierMuncher's Outer Limits IPA

I brewed it on 1-1-11. Two weeks later my gravity was at 1.030. I had been fermenting in the basement, 63 degrees. I brought up to the computer room, which is about 70, and gave it a good stir on 1-16-11. It has been bubbling quite a bit since then. I will probably take a sample this...

Are there different "types" of IPA's

I dislike overly bitter IPA's and overly grassy ones. I prefer a nice malt to mine as well. A few of my favs are: Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA Widmer Deadlift IIPA Pliny Ninkasi Maiden the Shade. I also enjoy Stone and Lagunitas regular IPA's.

I'll be doing an american wheat, hopped with Citra, along with a Kolsch, and Edworts PA. Probably throw a saison in there somewhere too.

    Great Beer in Vegas?

I stayed at the Flamingo last February, and spent many a night down at the Sin City bar. Last year they had a great seasonal IPA, done with centennial and Willamette hops. It was totally different than the typical citrus bomb. A lot of the stuff seemed undercarb'd, but it is being piped quite...

    Brew for Super Bowl

I'll have an american wheat, pale ale, IPA and a malty winter brew on tap. Should be something for everyones tastes. The wheat is my main brew for the game, fairly low ABV and easy to drink.

    Lagunitas IPA Clone

Revvy, I too have wondered what gives Lagunitas brews their distinctive taste, there is a common thread amongst almost all of their brews. I too would like to pinpoint it.

    Collar insulation help

I used the white styrafoam that has a slick plastic coating on it. I cut it on my tablesaw, which worked very well. I am wondering if spray adhesive would be enough to make it stick. If not, gorilla glue should do the trick.

Last I checked, the coffin was running about 10 degrees warmer than the kegs. The wiring and controller are all hidden by the collar and its Styrofoam insulation.

All I can say is keep watching. Learn what they go for and wait it out until you find a deal. New ones cost $$$ but you can find steals on used ones if you are patient. I started gathering my parts and pieces about 3 months before I got started on the build.
