True, seems odd to add the manual brew option though if their hands were tied though. Still feel like that one may have been in works for a while though and someone just decided it was time to flip the switch.

    CO2 Capture

Need y'all to reaffirm or poke holes in this for me..... I ferment in corny kegs and have been thinking about ways to save on some CO2. I'm not looking to replace my tanks or anything but since so much CO2 is produced during fermentation I was thinking why not capture and use it for stuff like...

If they truly were going under and wanted to support the community they would release the ability to self host a server locally to continue use. What makes me feel like they have hope to sell or are still looking to be a company is right now thats still proprietary and something they can market...

    Picobrew Z

I love my Z, can’t argue the company hasn’t been the best. I think they will get bought. I think Pico Paks are dead / anything that’s high in operations cost. Some subscription model seems to make the most since especially if it’s just for software, bigger bang for their buck. On a positive...

Thanks, I will give letting it soak a try. Been having an issue lately where by the time I hit adjust 2 on my clean cycle, its drained the keg of water and overheats it self trying to pump nothing sense the keg is empty. Everything else seems to work fine just seems like you need more than 2.5...

    Make IPA Clear Again

What I did for beer today

Just crushed and put 63 Oreos in an imperial milk stout (post primary ferm) - gave the keg a little CO2, noticed a leak an hour or so later and attempted to poke the out post to fix said leak; stout shot in my face. Best part is I had the biggest smile because the bastard already tastes like...

Other Half Daydream (oat cream IPAs) - all grain clone attempts

I purged the transfer hoses, never had concern over a leak but it is an old hose been I’m using (and cleaning) the same one for 2 years now.

Other Half Daydream (oat cream IPAs) - all grain clone attempts

I ferment in corny kegs, during cold crash I keep it sealed and hooked up to CO2

Other Half Daydream (oat cream IPAs) - all grain clone attempts

Per my previous post here’s the color outcome after full star sansing purging all transfer kegs (one transfer for final dry hop at day 7-8 and then another to the serving keg). Would like to get a bit lighter, I feel like it’s gotta be my system. ATTACH=full]671142[/ATTACH]

    How bad did I oxidize?

Thanks! I purged it with CO2 prior to transfer and I may have a Campden tablet lying around.

    How bad did I oxidize?

Good to know about the seal, I noticed half way through there was the arrow. This one did have the o-ring as well.

    How bad did I oxidize?

It was! Whether that was the cold crash and gelatin more so than the filter is open for debate [emoji846]

    How bad did I oxidize?

That’s also what I was wondering if in a closed, purged transfer would it matter or is this really just a like taking from an auto siphon concern?

    How bad did I oxidize?

I wanted to get this lager super bright and it had a lot of coconut in it so I decided to run it through this filter First, I ran it through backwards saw a lot of bubbles and realized there was an arrow and said “oh sh*t” about half way through the transfer. Then I started to remember I had...

Anyone use PBW for deep cleans? I know it says not to but I got sick and wasn’t able to do a deep clean or rinse after a big stout (been sitting for 3-4 days now). I really want to avoid wort darkening and at one point said screw it and used PBW on my Pico Pro to solve that issue. The Z to me is...

Other Half Daydream (oat cream IPAs) - all grain clone attempts

I’m using stainless steel. Wonder if the recirculating prior to boil and during whirlpool could have an effect? Funny you say that about the dry hopping. The best looking beer I’ve got on my system so far was one that I did not do any transfer to dry hop, just one at day 2 and another at day 5...

Other Half Daydream (oat cream IPAs) - all grain clone attempts

I've got my first batch only going full star sans purges on deck for next week. Hydrometer samples were looking a little dark though :( (still orange no brown or anything just not as yellow as I'd like). Prior batch I started the star sans purge after the first transfer (just CO2 purge) Quite...
