    Whats wrong with this beer

I brewed a brown ale 12 days ago and pitched an American ale yeast that a friend had washed and given me. It was my first time not using a smack pack. The FG is pretty close but there is an usual taste. I'm going to post a pic. Can anyone offer suggestions and/ or answers

    Pitching yeast

I brewed a batch of brown ale on Saturday. I made a starter from the wort. I didn't pitch the yeast until two days later. Was my wort ok to sit at room temp inside a fermenter for two days

    Making a starter

I know this has been covered a lot but I'm still having trouble understanding until I actually do it. Two weeks ago I kegged a brown ale. I took the leftovers from my fermenter and added water. I gave it a swirl, put it in a sanitized jar, covered it, and put it in the fridge. I would like to...

    Kegerator question

Do you have any photos of the co2 setup. I'm setting my kegerator up and saw your post and thought it would be a great way to still be able to force carb. Thanks

    Making a starter

Can anyone give me some instruction? I have some yeast that was given to me in a jar along with some frozen wort. I'm planning on brewing tonight and need some detailed instructions on what to do with the yeast to keep from having to buy any.

    Keggle

Has anyone used an angle grinder to cut the top out of a keg to make a brew pot? If so, were you able to cut a fairly perfect circle?

    WTT keg lid for shank

I saw where you have several shanks. Was wondering if you had four that you might want to part with. I'm not sure yet what size I need. Either 3 inch or 4 and 1/2.

    Brown ale

This is my recipe for a brown ale. It has turned out great. I was curious to see how using basic two row would change the flavor or color. Any help would be appreciated. 9 lbs. - Maris Otter - 2 Row malt 2 oz. - Chocolate malt 2 oz. - Crystal malt (60L) 1.5 oz. - Black Patent malt Hop...

    Bulk grain

I really appreciate the response. Is Maris Otter generally more expensive than 2 row or is it the same thing?

    Bulk grain

Can anyone riddle me this? I'm looking at some grain to buy in bulk. I'm also seeing posts where people are getting their base malts for 70 cents per lb. most if my recipes call for Maris otter. The prices im finding for it is $1.89 per lb. Do most people substitute Something else for MO?

    Kegging

I've had a breakfast stout in primary for 3 weeks. I don't secondary. I do usually cold crash before kegging. I failed to put my primary in the fridge til now. I'd like to force keg it and pour one today to see how it turned out. My question is is it necessary to cold crash and how long will I...
