American Pale Ale Da Yooper's House Pale Ale

dirty dirty lies. 100% munich beer isn't enough munich. not fitting for an American APA, but in principle, you just can't over-munich.

    KitchenAid Grain Mill????

i'm seeing a price point at around $150, and it looks like a corona style mill. for that much cash i think there are better option more well suited to crushing grains.

Every batch I make is sour

i'll assume this is similar to oxyclean and the various other names. it's not a great sanitizer, especially if you already have an infection hiding in your equipment. bleach or boiling water or both on everything. new yeast! and do your best to keep everything post boil clean, not just...

    Ideas for these hops/grains?

that's what i would lean towards for my personal tastes. as with all beer, it's all quite subjective.

    Ideas for these hops/grains?

palisades and summit are great for flavor, aroma, or dry hop additions. i've had good luck with ahtanum as a flavor addition. i'd probably go with a 60 min summit, then like 2-3 oz of palisades and ahtanum at 15 min 2-3 oz of palisades and ahtanum mix at 10 an ounce or two of summit at 5 and...

    Ideas for these hops/grains?

summit ahtanum and palisades with that midnight wheat and goldswaen plus some pale malt could make a nice cascadian dark ale.

    Clarifying homebrew beer question!

i just pour. it seems to work best as it naturally settles through the beer. stirring would mess that up a bit.

    Clarifying homebrew beer question!

well, 1/2 a cup of boiling water should be at 212F. add that to a half a cup of room temp 70F. you should end up with a full cup of 141F water, close enough to get the gelatin dissolved.

    Clarifying homebrew beer question!

warm enough to dissolve, but not warm enough to make jello. if you want to do the math, you can add x amount of tap water to x amount of boiling to get to the desired temp.

Keggers - Do you "tie-up" some taps with the same beer over and over?

i only have four taps at any given time, so i try to keep something crisp/refreshing, something dark, something hoppy, and the fourth spot rotates between cider and middle of the road type style (brown ale, alt, pale, etc.) that's the plan most times, but ultimately whatever gets kegged first...

What I did for beer today

takes me 3-4 12g cartridges to serve a 5 gal keg, so you should get away with 2-ish.

What I did for beer today

they work just fine. it gets quite expensive to carb & serve with them, so try to carb with a 'big' tank or naturally first.

    Tropical/Fruity Pale Ale Hop Combos

i've done a fun experiment with unfamiliar hops, similar to this: https://www.bertusbrewery.com/2013/03/dry-hopped-bud-light.html i have no idea where i saw the original posting of the concept; it was a while ago. It doesn't give you a complete picture of how the hop performs in beer, since no...

is there any way I can save my beer?

boilin up some dme also provides an opportunity to cram some more hop flavor and aroma in there. might not be needed, but hey, it's an IPA (Irresponsible Portions of Alpha-acids).
