What I did for beer today

Amarillo is a lot more forward hope, it goes to the grapefruit orange lime for me, while azzaca is mild but certainly I could smell the mango and peach, bit of grapefruit as well, chinook was pure grapefruit to me, it feels more earthy but I had no real smell comparison at the moment. Im new to...

What I did for beer today

I put 30 ml of vodka in 3 containers, then aded 3 pellets of azacca, chinook and amarillo on each, then got some grapefruit, orange, lime, mango, pinapple and peach to compare the smells. It is a very good sensorial experiment.

    What are you drinking now?

Just opened the 1st bottle of my last brew: hoppy blonde made with mosaic, it is awsome, maybe one of my best brews so far.

Nelson Galaxy Pale Ale recipe check

Late update: It did not clear up, as usually happens with my kveik brews, it went towards an IPA profile but with APA stats, good brew, will do it again with s05 once its not that cold at night.

    Recipe check, smash!

Yeah I kinda felt the kveik thing before but sadly the T drops to 8-10C at night and I have no way to control temp when ambient is low, during summer i do have control, and already lost a batch cos of that with us05, while voss seems to autokeep the warm and finish ok.

    Recipe check, smash!

Hey there, I would like to brew a smash next weekend using Muntons Maris otter and centennial, keeping it near the pale ale profile, I've calculated around 30 IBU with this schedule: 0.5oz @60 min 1.0oz @15 min 1.0oz @0 min 2-3oz 3 day dray hop kveik voss in the yeast and targeting 1.050 in the...

    Making clear IPA again

For me, the debate is around IPAS being dry, bitter beers vs non dry, non bitter beers, thats why I refuse to include NEIPAS into IPA category (I know I am not authority for that, just a matter of believes), I do believe there can be hazy IPAS, as long as they keep those two minimum...

When to step up from Extract to All Grain?

I started all grain from my 1st batch, still a supernoob obviously, as I only have 8 brews of experience but I would say: A bit of reading/studying will allow you to have a decent result and gives your more flexibility over the malt profile. On a romantic side: Its a lot more fun to do the mash...

    American Pale Ale recipe check

Ended up using the original grain bill, mash efficiency went a bit low, stayed at 1.049 instead of the 1.050 goal, close enough, thank you and I hope I get a decent beer.

    American Pale Ale recipe check

Will be my 1st time doing dry hop with kveik too. I am using now that is to cold and I have no way to keep stable 18C for fermentis 05 which would be my "to go" yeast for pale ales and IPAS, Did a 1st batch with kveik, pitched at 35C and then it did its magic itself with good results. About...
