How much yeast in a 50mL cake?

Wow! That was pretty harsh as you did not mention any of your previous searches in your OP.

    Too late to top off?

I'm with stvo, personally, I would bottle as is and enjoy the higher abv.

    Bottle conditioning after refrigeration

Should, just give them another week or two. If no carbonation by then you might not have added enough sugar, or whatever you used. Did you use a carbonation calculator?

    Built a mash tun, but...

Hope the day went well. Remember, you are not going to brew the greatest beer in the world on your first all grain run. You are really just learning the system and getting it dialed in. As a bonus you will hopefully get some drinkable, decent beer out of these first couple of learning experiences.

    Barrel Aging Home Brew?

We have a 53 gallon bourbon barrel in my basement full of a huge RIS. kblankenship11 is right, just take a small sample every 5-7 days till you like it. Our beer has been in a freshly dumped, of bourbon, barrel for over 3 months, but that is common for larger barrels. I don't have experience...

    Built a mash tun, but...

I used a pair of heavy duty scissors to cut the braided line once the liner house was out of it. Gave me a nice clean cut.

    Oaking in a secondary question

I'm not a huge fan of transferring beer more than I have to. Too much chance of causing infection. Personally, I would let it get through fermentation and then transfer on to the oak chips. Maybe put them in a bag and you can pull it when it gets where you want and the let the beer sit as long...

Imperial Stout tastes off, bottle or experiment?

I agree on both, hops, while not over present in a beer like that will be gone by now and the need for more yeast to bottle. Wish I could let a big RIS sit for 18+ months!

Imperial Stout tastes off, bottle or experiment?

Wow, I did not notice that. Should not matter with such a big beer. If it is not 'funky' it will likely be very good.

ISO beer tasting tracking spreadsheet for MAC

My wife uses https://untappd.com/. She can keep notes on each beer and note beers she might want to try.

Awesome Beer Poster and what's on deck

I have a print of that in my garage/brew area. Cool idea about putting the black dots on the brewed beers.

    Dry hop mistake

I would not worry too much about the vegetal taste. I have dryhopped beers for 6wks+ after primary with no odd flavors. Once because life got in the way and I forgot about the beer and the second time because the first one came out so good.

Imperial Stout tastes off, bottle or experiment?

If there is no 'zing' or sourness to the taste then you are likely OK. Good luck.

Forgot to take OG. Now facing a mystery, and a decision

Like the others said, let it ride. I don't always take OG readings. Especially on beers a brew repeatedly. If my brew day is good with no problems I don't worry about it. I know the #s will be fine and the beer will be good. At worst, if you shorted the initial water a bit, your abv will be a...

    Type M thermocouple, question.

I did some more reading and have contacted seller. I agree, it should go back. Thanks

    Type M thermocouple, question.

Ordered a 'Type K' thermocouple and was shipped a 'Type M'. Not sure if it will be ok to use. Here is the PID I am using. Here is a bit of info about the Type M thermocouple. I just don't understand the particulars..... Type M thermocouples use a nickel alloy for each wire. The positive...

Mash Lauter Tun from Coleman Xtreme 70 Quart Cooler

My store, for some reason, offers a $3.08 rebate to go with it bringing the price down to $24.91. Already have one setup for a mash tun, looks like I need a new camping cooler!
