I agree, I make some good beer and wine. I also want to be able to make Port and liqour or however a low proof thicker wine is called. I use Whisky when I make BBQ and Wing Sauce. I have a huge garden with many, many herbs. As well as to make my own distilled water. Many uses, especially when...

Yes that is why I asked about that model (link above) thoughts and comments about it. 65-85 bucks I can have a unit to distill. I have many uses for it. A pot Stil is desired. I had asked in another thread as mentioned about the Thumper and after investigation a tower is great with copper mesh...

You are right. Indeed after further study today the Thumper is a bit antiquated but also still needed pending on what One is after. I want to retract my last statement or EDIT, which I will with parenthesis above in the statement

    Thumper question

I found this if someone comes across the differences as I asked. Bottom line a thumper makes it a closed system.

Wanting to stay on TOPIC... I will answer this in hopes we do not go down scenario hwy about flash point and so on. No for one, the first run would not light if I were to touch a lighter to it, the second run prob not as well. Albeit the the heads would, if separated and allowed to fume without...

    Is this trub or yeast?

Brew in a bag, Ebay has some over there for a couple bucks food grade, very large, very fine mesh. I order right from China and get like 4 for 8 bucks delivered, takes two weeks, but I am not in a hurry.

    Thumper question

Thanks GW, You are envisioning easy enough. But I am new. So you pre-heat the Thumper until you hear it thump. So in that link the one sitting atop of the still would need longer lines and two burners? You also state "Putting Mash or higher ABV" You meant in the Thumper? Since that was the...

Well it is 65.00 ebay good rating, with recourse. but with a Thumper it is 102. I thought the same about piecing it together 20 bucks for 10' 1/2" copper, ferrels, connections, Used Pressure cooker, new gasket, on and on. Easy 60. before I even begin to spend time putting together.

    Thumper question

New to this, watched a handful of vids, read some articles. I understand that the thumper is like a second run....Does that mean I need to heat the thumper? I ask because of the thumper being the second run so I thought the 'Heart' was around 168ºf - 172º. Second question if I skip the...

How much extra would you pay to support a LHBS

Since I am a weirdo who uses organics instead of sprayed grain, hops and DME, I am forced to order online and pick it up off my front porch at a considerable savings. I know there is the overhead of a store but there is also a wholesale price to that store and also a shipping discount they...

Adding a Fan to the Kegerator

It rocks! 50 minutes according to post time stamp- took the fridge from 50 to 34, normally that was overnight. Albeit the kegs were 40 before dismantle and wire job. I recommend it. 8 watts will prob save me money since it does not have to be on forever to get under 40

Adding a Fan to the Kegerator

All done. Tied it up to the freezer fan, it will turn off when the fridge says it's fine and during defrost. 3 kegs there is always one in there ready... Thanks for the thought.

Adding a Fan to the Kegerator

Fan is here, fridge is down to 36, but going to hook fan anyways, bought and delivered. IT was an 8w 60hz not 18. I'm gonna tie it into the freezer fan so it kicks off when it does, I Just want to pull the freezer air and circulate better. I do not think 8w is going have an affect on the relay...

Insanely foamy homebrew from homemade kegerator: Tried almost everything

Well then if I was the OP I would remove the quick disconnect, adjust the p.s.i after venting IF force charging, that should iron out the foam and removal of Co2. IF the foam persists then your hose line needs to be of the material the calc calls for to be applicable. To test you could charge...
