  1. Loud Brewing

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I will have to take a pic but, I just cut the original dip tube short about 3" on any keg and reinsert it. I then cut a short piece off of what I just cut, about 1" and drill a small hole in it, then insert it into bottom of silicone tubing. I then use fishing line through the hole and wrap...

Start with solid Fermonster lid and get some threaded ball lock posts (gas and liquid) https://www.williamsbrewing.com/Liquid-Ball-Lock-With-Threaded-Post-P4507.aspx Then use a spade bit (1/2" I believe) and pop 2 holes in lid and use these gaskets or something similar to make posts air tight...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I dont ferment in keg but I use a version of the clear beer system in all my kegs for serving and even in the fermenter for transfers. If your cheap like me you can just use silicon tubing and an improvised float, something like a small pill bottle works great.

Nice, I have also recently started using small amounts of kettle agents, just nothing in the keg. I do enjoy the slightly more refined, no murk North Eastern styles, but I also love a opaque adjunct filled heavily hopped juice bomb. One thing I am surprised that is not discussed here more often...

I'm also not a big fan of hop hash. I have used the el Dorado and chinook, but I prefer using pellets, even at the x2 dose. I cant speak to the exact style your making, but I use a very simple water profile that works great for my neipas which was initially suggested by Janish on reddit; R.O...
  6. Loud Brewing

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I asked this exact question to professionals in regards to scaling total hop loads from 1bbl to 10gal and was told that I would most likely have to increase my total hop load a bit because of their ability to AlHop and or other techniques like pulsing c02 from the bottom of the conical (and...

I think that a lot of these breweries are always tweaking their hop dosages to create better margins. It's also the fact that it's an agricultural product with tons of variables in ingridients

I have also been experimenting with total hop loads and wp/dh ratios at home. I have several friends who own and operate professional breweries in SoCal (wicks, route 30, euryale) and I have been given the same answer in regards to their hop quantities in neipa offerings. They all claim to use...

I agree with Dgallo, comando is the way to go. Try adding a floating dip tube to your fermenter, it works excellently during transfer

Wyeast smack pack and stir plate

If the wyeast is fresh and its not a high gravity wort just smack it, wait for it to expand and toss it in. Think of the smack pack as a small starter. I only build starters on a plate if the yeast is old or if I'm propping it up to build cell count for multiple batches.

I also just started canning and have only filled about a dozen so far with mixed results. My normal sop is to force carb at roughly 15psi, and I didn't want to pull the keg out to boost carbonation before canning so I just went for it like you. I definitely noticed a flatter beer after filling...

Off topic, but did you increase the carbonation prior to canning? Seems like most beers need a boost if kept in can for more than a few days. I'm thinking of picking up a beer gun and a long section of beer line in order to raise c02 in solution without excess foam while filling/canning.

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

a bit off topic, but has anyone modified their Robobrew mash pipe similar to the Anvil? (drilled holes around the sides)

Just a heads up, these are now in stock at williams. I ordered one yesterday with the power supply and 200 cans/lids. I will post my impressions when it arrives.
