    Books?

I have a list here:http://homemadesodaexpert.blogspot.com/p/links-and-references.html From that list, Stephen Cresswell's book was the only one for a while that was wholly dedicated to homemade soda. (Homemade Root Beer, Soda & Pop, 1998). I think this is the most likely to be at your...

    Vintage cabinet kegerator build

You don't necessarily need a separate setup, but it helps. In a nutshell, you'll want to carbonate soda at higher pressure, in the 25-30psi range. Serving at an event, you can just turn down your serving pressure, but if you want to have it available on tap all the time you'll want to keep it...

    Williams brewing faucet setup

Nah, not too cheap for stainless. I can't look at the williams brewing one where I am now, but I purchased Perlick 630SS w/barbed SS shank combos from beverage factory for about $57 each. From the searching that I did when I was about to buy mine, that price from Williams seems pretty average...

    Refurbishing an older tap

I refurbished some similar looking faucets using parts from CHI company. Kind of a confusing product page, but you can kind of build your own rebuild-kit.

    Perlick faucet question

I picked up a pair of the 630ss w/ss barbed shank combos from Beverage Factory about 6 months ago and have been very happy with them. With a $10 off coupon for signing up for the newsletter they came out to about $56 each shipped. That came out to be the best price for me because I needed the...

    "Pry Off" Bottles ...

I've used Stella Artois bottles with regular 26mm caps, though I can't speak to exactly what particular bottle it is, they were given to me without labels and slightly smaller than 12oz if I remember correctly. I'll check the stamp when I get home. They work great with a bench capper, but...

    Buying commercial soda in kegs?

I've only ever seen 5gal BIB at Sam's Club. Which comes to 30gal of finished beverage. EDIT: Just searched and did see some off-brand 1gal BIBs on their website, I didn't know they carried those.

I make my soda syrup -now how to keep and serve it?

Are you looking to have it in a bag? I know that corny kegs can be used for syrup. If you haven't already, there's a nice powerpoint put together by Lancer that is available for download that explains a lot of common questions about post-mix setups. (I'm assuming that's what you mean when...

    How much sugar to prime?

I think we all confused this thread with the other recent thread: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f95/how-much-sugar-carbonate-1ltr-bottle-510218/ I've never measured exactly what I need for priming sugar, just did full sugar and threw it in the fridge, but you are looking for about 4 volumes as...

Fridge is JUST too small for 1/2 barrel

A little bit bigger in what direction? I trimmed my (I think) 3.5cf mini fridge to fit a 5 gal and a 3 gal corny. It's a bit of work, but I can fit both kegs and a 5lb co2 tank in there. Someday I'll post some pictures.

    Buying commercial soda in kegs?

Soda is still available in pre-mix tanks. A wise beverage distributor will have it on hand for concessions stands where there is no access to water and/or electricity. Call up your local Coke bottler and ask about the possiblilty of buying coke zero as a 5 gal pre-mix. I called about getting...

    Making Concentrates

Have you tried the Anton Nocito book? The author is the owner of P&H soda, they sell concentrates in the New York City area, I believe.

    How much for used bottles?

I don't have enough friends that drink craft beer, so I gladly pay a small fee for a used bottle if it's the right style. I usually pick up empty champagne bottles from the tasting room at the local winery for 15 cents each whenever I stop by there. They're 750ml, take a crown cap and they're...

Vintage GE fridge for kegerator help

I would be leery of drilling up through into the freezer space, but I'm not familiar with how these older top freezer units are set up. Is there a separate thermostat for the freezer, or a single thermostat that controls both?

Kegerator running for hours off for 20-30 minutes

Did you look at the back to see the specifications? I think it should have a recommendation on run-time expressed as a percentage.

Vintage GE Fridge Kegerator Conversion Project

Can't comment on painting as I haven't done that yet. I didn't want to paint just yet because I put it in my basement and couldn't figure out a good way to paint without pulling it back out again and hauling it back down once it was done. I'm not moving that beast out of the basement until I...

Vintage GE Fridge Kegerator Conversion Project

I wish you better luck than I had with mine. When I pulled out the freezer box with the rest of the sealed system, I ended up with a pinhole leak that leaked most of the freon over the course of a couple weeks. Be careful if you pull that out to replace the insulation. Is yours a 10cf or an...

    thermometer with memory for keezer?

Thermoworks makes some decent usb data loggers, that will give you an entire profile and not just a low and a high. Your low or high could be a fluke and you will get spikes from opening the door. Make sure you pay attention to resolution, though. I think that the cheaper ones are ±4°F, but I...
