    First recipe- Peated Porter.

I just did a take on a northern English brown recipe and added a half pound of peat smoked malt. After only a month in the keg it's fabulous and not overbearing peat in my opinion. I really like the peat smoke flavor though. I have considered going a bit higher with it but I'm very happy with...

If we still need a sack to fill the order I was looking for a split on some pilsner...but I could probably do a split of something else if you had something in mind.

Stuck fermentation after boiling day after mash...

Ok, so I had brewed a batch (fairly close to exact recipe but using Vienna as the base) of Biermuncher's Guiness clone on 2/21 hoping for a quick turn around for St Patty's day. Mash went smoothly at 154/155 for an hour, however, shortly into the boil I ran out of propane :drunk: and it was too...

Help! I froze my first kegged beer

I've accidentally frozen both a keg and a carboy I was cold crashing due to just throwing then in new fridges (2 separate times lol). Both were absolutely fine after I took them out and let thaw at room temperature. I wouldn't worry, just may need to give it extra time to carb now as you...

Frozen in my Blichmann Fermentor after fermentation

I just had a carboy freeze while cold crashing due to not figuring out temps in a new fridge before throwing it in there. Took it out, let it thaw, kegged and used the yeast cake for a new beer that was already boiling when I realized it froze. A day and a half later I was spewing krausen out...

Is my beer infected? Ive got pictures

Looks like a Mr Beer fermenter...based on the notches in the threads the lid screws onto. I did have some infection problems with mine, I believe it was partly due to the fact that the lid doesn't totally seal, hence why an airlock isn't necessary. I switched to a 3 gallon carboy for the small...

    Beer Smith Users...

I BIAB and have beersmith version 1. It's great for entering and figuring out recipes and carbonation volumes for me. However, as others have said, you'll have to figure out the efficiency of your system (which I did with beersmith after a few batches) and go from there. I don't really mess with...

+1 to farmhouse, especially for the deals on 4 oz packages of hops. They're great if u want a selection instead of a whole pound of stuff
