    Sanyo 4912 or Oster 5.0?

I'd rather search for a line than relocate a thermostat though.

    Sanyo 4912 or Oster 5.0?

I have the option to pick up a used sanyo 4912 or get a new oster 5.0 fridge. Due to some best buy connections, I can get the oster at a nice discount. The sanyo is in good condition. My question is, which one should I get? I am leaning towards the sanyo due to how many people have been pleased...

    Co2 Cloud

Are you supposed to be able to see the co2 cloud in the keg? I bought a 10 pound co2 tank off craigslist and I can see the cloud it left after I cleaned my keg. Is this normal?

    Bottling Question

Thanks for the info. I bottled today and hopefully it went well. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks!

    Bottling Question

Is it ok to sanitize bottles in the dishwasher on the heavy heated cycle and heated dry? Also, is it ok to put the sugar (after it has been boiled) into the bottom of the bucket and rack on top of it? Do I need to stir it in? Any advice would be great (it's my first time bottling.)

    Kegerator Conversion Questions

I am going to be turning either a chest freezer into a kegerator or a small refrigerator into a kegerator in the near future. I have a few questions that I hope you all will be able to help me with. 1. If I put a collar on the freezer, is silicon sufficient to keep the collar connected to the...

    Kegging equipment

I found a deal too good to pass up on some kegging equipment to pass up. It comes with a korny keg, 10 on co2 tank, plus a lot of other brewing stuff for $130. I am wondering if I could just use the keg in a deep freeze with a temp regulator without an actual tap handle and just use a hand held...

White specks on top of my first brew

My first brew is in the secondary (a honey cream ale) and a white layer has formed around the edge of the top of the carboy and it has some white specks floating at the top. I think it may just be yeast, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if it may be infected. Any help...

    A little help needed....

I am brewing a holiday ale extract right now and have a question. I added the liquid extract and of course it dropped my wort to below a boil. I added the hops after it had all dissolved, but it wasn't boiling yet. Should I start the hour once the boil starts, or when I added the hops? Thanks...

    There's Nothing Like IT

There is nothing like sitting at home and hearing UPS deliver your latest brew kit. I'll be racking my first attempt (Honey Cream Ale) to the secondary tonight and brewing my latest (Special Holiday Ale) tomorrow. Ahh, I love this new hobby.

Is it OK to take a hydrometer reading yet?

What about moving to a secondary after 14 days? Does it not help with clarity and taste? How long do you normally bottle condition if you move it from the primary after 14 days?

Is it OK to take a hydrometer reading yet?

If I don't rack to the secondary, how long should I leave it in the primary?

Is it OK to take a hydrometer reading yet?

Thanks for the advice. I know that the gas bubbles mean nothing, but I just wanted to check. I plan on taking the hydrometer readings three consecutive days and if it is the same, I'll move. I am just sitting here drinking a Sam Adams Cream Stout wondering what my beer tastes like. I was kinda...
