    Clone SN Tumbler...Help!

I just tried Tumbler for the first time yesterday and I think I found my fall beer. Could you post your final recipe on this beer? I'd appreciate it. Rick

    Lets all drop the SWMBO.

Don't think you could find a post of me calling my wife SWMBO. We're a partnership that works really well. We started a successful business together and are rarely more than 50' apart by our mutual choice. Been living together like this for over 20 years. However, I have lots of friends in...

    Brutus 10 pricing

Ubermick and I built two of these. I think that's a great price if it's what we did. Why is the dude selling a brand new unit? What kind of temp control is on the burners, or is it all manual?

Nice article about a lady brewmaster

Yeah.. link pops up and says I got to subscribe. I'll bet it's interesting though.

    Hello from Plano, TX

Hello Planoooooooo!! Glad you popped up and said hi. I lived in Plano for 8 years, moved Uptown and had more fun. Enjoy the obsession.

    Don't dump your bad brew!

Ahh.. great aged balsamic vinegars ARE godly. Not cheap and money doesn't necessarily buy quality, so you can't chose on price alone. You can pay $30-$40 an ounce for the reeally good stuff, but you use so little it's not a horrible expense. Most people have just had the stuff from the...

    Pbw

Sadly (or not) I got a conical so I don't have two gunked up things to do a side by side. I'm still really happy with the cleaning power of the 'fake' PBW and with Costco's pricing on Oxy I'm saving money. I considered adding a bit of phosphates to the mix, but if it works..

Hydro says done, refracto says not done

Did you correct the refractometer reading for alcohol? If your original refractometer reading was 1.049 and your fermented out reading is 1.025 uncorrected for alcohol, then the corrected for alcohol refractometer reading is 1.009 and close to your hydrometer reading. You didn't specify...

    Any Vivarium builders/Owners out here?

Nope.. I did a terrarium in a carboy once. I didn't open it for over 5 years and it always looked beautiful. Really tough planting very small plants, used something similar to giant chop sticks. Once you get the right amount of water in there, you just seal it up and it takes care of...

    Post removal

I'll chime in.. fill a 5 gal bucket with a couple gallons of really hot water. Invert the corny in it for at least 5 min to get it hot then try twisting it off. Use a rag and vice grips or a good set of pliers. Use common sense with how much pressure to squeeze with, but I'm thinking those...

Logo sticker quote=$$$$ and more $$$$$

Also, if you want some help with design, Josh is amazing. He's done a few logo's for us and he'll work with you until you have exactly what you want. This is a shameless plug from one of his really satisfied customers. :D

    Dont brew drunk!!!!

Since I always have BMs Centennial Blonde on tap, it's what I have in moderation during brew day. The 4% ABV and a partner keeps me from making too many mistakes. Brew day should be fun, I stay sober for work.

Help with Dry Stout / US-05 - Stuck?

As others have pointed out, US05 can ferment out a rusted volkswagen. I don't believe I've ever had a stuck fermentation from it. I'd wait a bit to make sure it's completely done. I'd also say I was going for a slightly sweet stout when someone tastes it. I'll bet it's going to be...

    The Carbonator Cap

Here's a pic of two of mine, the other two are in use. They don't have any gaskets and I've never had a problem with leakage. The one on the right is my first one and I've used it a ton. A nice feature of mine is they have anti-gravity and can float on the formica ceiling.

    The Carbonator Cap

I've used any bottle that comes with a carbonated beverage with success. I have 4 carbonators and always use them when I first rack to get a sense of the beer and check for any off flavors. I've used 2 liter bottles and I've used individual coke bottles. Never have had a leaking problem.

    Oatmeal stout recipe

That IS a big Oatmeal Stout. I have a spot on clone of Anderson Valley's Barney Flats Oatmeal stout and I've made 70 gallons of the stuff. For the 10 gallon clone it uses 2 lbs of Oatmeal, 2 lbs of chocolate, 2 lbs of Munich, 2 of Cara 80 and 2 of Cara 40L. You won't need the Munich, since...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I came up short like that and just tossed in a pound of corn sugar at the end of boil. It was delicious, but really dried out the finish. Made it even more likeable to some of my Coors drinking friends. You could add the DME and it might not affect it like the corn sugar. I'd do it, since...

Logo sticker quote=$$$$ and more $$$$$

My tip is to not go to a trophy store to get you labels/stickers. If the artwork is truly 6 color than have someone convert it to CMYK, or 4 colors. Look online for stickers, there's tons of places with low minimums, fast service and inexpensive options. You also could just take the...

    partially frozen cornies-am I screwed ??

Yeah, I've done that exact same thing. Now I have the probe permanently attached. Froze my beers into solid blocks, melted them down and they tasted fine after carbing up. I was beginning to wonder if you could freeze beer to preserve the fresh hop taste.
