We just got some of Denny's favorite yeast in and it was semi-swollen. I called NB and they said both 1056 and 1450 have been swelling up a bit in shipment. It's too swollen to smack even, but not tight like they get when they are smacked. I'm doing a starter so I'll check viability and...

2937 + another 10 for me to 2947. I fermented US05 down around 60 degrees this time and really got a cleaner, dry beer for summer. Still getting a really cloudy beer though. I'm using whole leaf Centennial so maybe thats it, I'll be getting another batch in soon to see if it changes...

Just a quick update on this old thread. I have the Bev-Air, it's beautiful and will hold 16 cornies. I have RO running through the glycol chiller for the tap head and use it for the glass rinser. Two bad things about this setup. The Bev-Air is LOUD LOUD when the compressor is running...

Yeah, I don't have the equipment for the refrigerant recovery or evacuating the system. I would definitely get someone else to replace it. It will cost as close to what a new freezer would run, but I wouldn't have to change over all the other mods I've done.

Darn it, my kegerator stopped cooling. The power is switching properly to the compressor. It get's really hot and goes out on the thermal protection. I talked to an appliance guy who said a freezer working at refrigerator temps would burn out the compressor every two years or so. Something...

Does anyone know of a good timer program for hop schedules on the iPad/iPhone? I use the alarm built into utilities on the phone, but it's a pain to calculate the time from the current time, since it's only an alarm not a timer. I don't want to HAVE to put in the whole recipe or ingredients...

The only thing left of the original box was the cardboard directly under the label, it was standard box cardboard. It had all the paperwork from LP and the over copied barely legible note from the post office saying they damaged the original box.
