    Pumpkin Ales

I remember reading somewhere that the point of baking it was to caramelize some of the sugars making them more ferment-able. Also, anyone have a 'tried-and-true' extract recipe for a pumpkin ale? I'm not quite ready to do an AG batch. Still need a bit more equipment and I would like to start...

Need advice for stocking up on grain, please.

I do not. I didn't think of that. My LHBS is owned by a really awesome dude that sometimes 'rents' his equipment out for a very small fee (usually beer :D) and I am pretty sure I could just use that the night before brew day. What are you considering long term storage? I would be fine with it if...

Need advice for stocking up on grain, please.

I am fairly new to homebrew and super new to AG brewing. I have done several kits and I want to try some BIAB AG goodness. My main inquiry in regards to this is - If I were looking to stock up on some common base grains and ingredients, what would you recommend? I am not looking to venture too...

    Penrose hot sausage recipe.

How long will these keep in the fridge? I want make a large batch, somewhere around a gallon at least. I KNOW I am not going to eat them particularly quickly unless I develop some sort of death wish between then and now. These look so delicious, though! Thanks for posting this!

largest batch in a 5 gallon water cooler bottle

This may be kind of a derpy question, but if I would have BPA problems fermenting in water cooler jugs, why is this not an issue when water sits in them for a few weeks? Does the fermentation trigger something or another? It just seems that if it is ok to keep water in them for weeks at a time...

Some advice on a temp controller please?

Thanks for pointing that out, I would have wasted some dollars. As far as checking out the STC-1000, I have now! That looks to be a great deal, I believe I will be ordering one of those bad boys tomorrow. I will have to go out and look at the freezer tomorrow to make sure this one fits the bill...

It's BEER! Thanks to all of you!

What I am planning is my next, next batch, lol. I have a second batch fermenting now (before I had kegged the first) and plan to get the ingredients for 2 more batches this weekend. Little brother's birthday coming up and he wants to give it a go so I figure "What better an excuse for me to get...

Too true. I am incredibly happy to have such a hobby that interests me so. For quite some time, I have been looking for a hobby that keeps me interested and satisfies the "maker" in me. I feel like I am setting foot on a long journey that I will enjoy every step of the way. Many thanks go out to...

It's BEER! Thanks to all of you!

I have been haunting this forum for hours a day and it has paid off! I have created beer, with your assistance! I brewed a slightly doctored up Weizenbier kit from Brewer's Best. It is now kegged, although slightly under carb'd as of now (mainly because I am impatient...). But it came out...
