    34/70 frement time

This is one of my favorite, go to yeasts. You will love it if you can keep the temp in the low 60's or less. It is usually done in 7 days and I get roughly 80% attenuation. As mentioned, if you keep it cool it is a very clean lager yeast and I've used it for delicious IPA's, Stouts and all...

    Auto Siphons

Have this one and like it a lot. I do use the aeration function to get oxygen into wort going into the fermenter. Silicone tubing is the way to go since it is so flexible and seals so well. https://ballandkeg.com/dual-purpose-siphon.php

    Favorite yeast

Nottingham and 34/70. Use these almost exclusively now after I went on a few years of liquid yeast because that's what was popular. Found that I love the clean Fermentation from both of these and don't really like fruity or estery beers. I've made American light lagers to Double IPA's with...

    BrewJacket or Fermentation Chamber

Go with a fermentation fridge for almost the same price as a Brewjacket and you can cold crash with it.

    Kegtron- Keg monitor system

I think it's just too expensive and complicated when there are super simple options out there for $20 per keg or less.

Floating Dip Tube - Which One?

I had two from Morebeer (same as the ones from Williams) and I had issues with the hose end floating, until I added a SS washer to the end to weight it down. I bought my other 4 from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Ball-Keg-Floating-Dip-Tube/dp/B07ZWFQXWK and they are plenty heavy at the tip to...

    Brewbuilt Coolstix

That's good to know. The coil unit from Ballandkeg can get down to lager temps pretty easily. I just did a Vienna Lager at 55 F for two weeks without insulation on my fermenter. I could have changed ice jugs less frequently if I insulated my Fermonster, but I find it's pretty easy to change...

Should I cold crash or rack to secondary, before carbonating in a keg?

#2. But you can cold crash for only 48 hours and add gelatin to speed the whole process up. Then keg right away and carbonate while chilled.

    Brewbuilt Coolstix

I have one of the Coolstix, but found that it did not cool as well as my other cooling coil that I purchased here Ball and Keg: Home Brew Keg Level Indicator They both work on my Fermonster, but the loop cools faster and goes lower. I think the coolstix has less surface area than the loop on...

Keg hopping with floating dip tube

If you are going to do free pellets, I would definitely do a good cold crash for several days before you test it.

Keg hopping with floating dip tube

I have four of the $20 floating dip tubes you can get on Amazon without a screen and I love them. https://www.amazon.com/Ball-Keg-Floating-Dip-Tube/dp/B07ZWFQXWK I typically use a hop canister to dry hop in the keg. The one time I tried to dry hop loose, I had serious plugging issues. I just...

Anyone tried this cheap floating dip tube from Ebay?

I'm using 5 of these and they work fine if you want an inexpensive option. https://www.amazon.com/Ball-Keg-Floating-Dip-Tube/dp/B07ZWFQXWK There are a few other cheap options out there as well. All around $20. I tried the Torpedo keg buoy and it was too light at the tip. The silicone tube...

Is it possible to use priming sugar in a keg?

If you do carb it with Sugar as you were asking, you could use the CO2 bulb for serving only.

Is it possible to use priming sugar in a keg?

I leave mine on at 10 to 12 psi until the keg is empty.

    Gly-Coil for Kegmenter

It wouldn't be near as pretty, but you could wrap copper tubing around the outside of the fermenter and insulate over that with a blanket. This has the benefit of not requiring the coil to be cleaned. I did it with a fermenter using cold water and it worked great. The pump in ice water or...

Is it possible to use priming sugar in a keg?

Yes, I do it almost every time. 3/4 cup sugar goes into the clean keg. I fill the beer on top of that, purge 3 or 4 times with a little CO2 and store at room temp for a week. I then chill and put on serving pressure CO2 at 12 psi. I too feel that my beer benefits from the week of aging and...

How long is fermentation temp a big issue?

Here's another inexpensive option that gives precise control. If you already have the inkbird you're looking at $70 more to have this system. I lager with mine down to the low 50's. I'd rather have control like this than spend the same $70 on a Cool Bag that doesn't have precise control...

7-14 Gallon Tank with Glycol Jacket instead of Immersion Coil?

You could wrap copper tubing around the outside and insulate over that. Probably a crap ton cheaper than buying a jacketed vessel.

    Float issue on king keg

I don't know much about the King Keg, but typically fermentation is done in a week. The second week of fermentation is more for yeast to clean up. If you want to naturally carbonate at that point, you need to add more sugar. 3/4 cup for 5 gallons gives me a real good basis for carbonation. I...

    Float issue on king keg

I'd add 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of sugar to carbonate. At two weeks your yeast have already consumed all the available sugar.
