    Pumpkin Cider Update

After spending the first part of my extended weekend moving my first born to college Asa freshman and returning home, I checked on my cider and found that it went from being active to nothing after over a week of fermenting. It looked like this. I gave a little burping to see if it would...

    Pumpkin Cider time!!

It sounds like you did your primary different than mine. I added the pumpkin in the beginning. I plan to add cinnamon stick to bring back the flavor along adding apple juice concentrate after racking.

    Vanilla and cinnamon cider

I use cinnamon sticks during secondary and just soak them in boiling water before adding to the cider to kill any stowaways.

    Sour cherry cider rack day

I forgot to post this last night. I racked my 3rd batch - the sour cherry cider. Before After There was a lot of funk when we opened the jug - more than what my sour beer loving husband could handle. I am hoping that the aging process will mellow the flavors out and then add some back...

    Brewing equipment for cider

I just used thawed frozen sour cherries in my latest batch and it went very well so far in primary. The airlock and a proper container is very helpful tools to use.

Cinnamon and Hops in a Cider??

I have used whole cinnamon sticks that were in boiling water before entering during secondary. I just transferred to the clean jugs and the smell was awesome. My husband commented that it smelled like a good perfume...made from cinnamon. I did not taste so I am curious how things even out in 2...

Making hard cider from store-bought apple juice

Yes! :D I have been very satisfied with what I had come out with it because it has a lot great stuff on the bottom of the jug. I need to remind myself to shake it up before pouring it into a clean jug after my ingredients.

Making hard cider from store-bought apple juice

I have been making all of my apple cider batches out of the Whole Foods organic apple cider in a 1-gallon jug. If you use this, I highly recommend pouring some out in a highly sanitized container (if you plan to use it) or just drink it (but not straight from the jug. :smack:) You will need...
