    Rookie mistake?

Ok here is a continuation of this brew. It is on the sweet side as you can imagine. I only bottled up a six pack about 2 weeks ago. I am going to bottle the rest some time this week. Is there any way to bitter this up some? Thanks, :fro:

    Question about carbonation

I'm on my forth batch and I am doing a 4 week primary, 2 week in bottles before first taste. I also have a pale ale to bottle in a week or so. So, soon I will have a lot of beer hanging around. :fro:

    Question about carbonation

Thanks for all the replies. It is only 2 weeks into carb and conditioning and there is no rush to consume the beer at this time. I just thought I would ask as a learning opportunity. Thanks again, Randy :fro:

    Question about carbonation

So your saying after letting it sit at room temp to ferment the sugars for a few weeks, it should be in the cold for a few days to finish?

    Question about carbonation

It has been in the bottles for a little over two weeks. They are kept in a room that I would guess averages about 70-72. It was in the fridge for about 6 hours before I drank it.

    Question about carbonation

I'm just starting to drink the Munton's Nut Brown. It is carbonated but the bubbles seems very big, if that makes sense. The head is almost like soap suds. Is this over carbonation? It was bottle carbed using dextrose. Thanks, :fro:

    Sweeter Types of Beer

I brewed this one as my first partial boil and have really enjoyed it. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f75/gluten-free-blood-orange-hefe-181144/ However, I didn't make it gluten free. Word of advice if you do this, try to put the orange pieces and peels in something, they can really clog the...

Newbie Help - Primary (no secondary) - & when to bottke

If you aren't using a secondary I would guess 3 weeks after fermentation is complete. I usually do 4 weeks in the primary. But, I'm new also. Hopefully someone else will chime in. Good luck, :fro:

    Rookie mistake?

The ball was soaked though, but it was a really compact ball. Don't think I will use a sock again. My first batch came out fine when I just thew them in. if it didn't infuse well is dry hopping a possibility or would it be too hard to judge and pretty much create a new beer? Thanks, :fro:

    Rookie mistake?

Yesterday I brewed a simple Drifter clone. It is my second batch that called for hops. The first time I just dumped them in, this time I decided to use a sock (cheese cloth). Well not knowing that they swell like they do I put them in a small space. during clean up I opened the sock and...

    Few random questions

Thanks for the replies. I do want the beer to have a slight honey flavor can gambrinus grain be added at he point?

    Few random questions

I have this Muntons Nut Brown that has been fermenting for 4 weeks now but I have a few questions before bottling. With wine the longer it stays in one vessel the better it is in the end. Is this also true for beer? Is "conditioning" part of the carbing process, or can conditioning happen...

    Dogfish Style

I might give a few a try to see what happens. I only did 2 1/2 gallons and I think about 10 bottles have twist off. I thinking they shouldn't oxidize too bad by the time I drink them (which would be pretty quick). If I do rebottle a few should the same amount of sugar again or would that...

    Dogfish Style

Yes that was the reason. That's what I was worried about. It's not that many bottles. Could I slow pour them into other bottles and re-carb? Thanks for the answers, :fro:

    Dogfish Style

    Is my fermentation stuck?

I also read a thread where the brewer put his fermenter on the dryer. I did that a few days ago and it does give it a little agitation when the dryer is running. I have seen a few bubble pop from the airlock during this time. Just figured it was worth a try. :fro:

Fastest Recipe for Getting Drinkable Beer

A Hef. or wheat is best when young. But if you could rent a keg setup. You could force carb and save a couple of weeks. There is a good article on how to reuse the coors home draft kits. http://danvillebeerclub.com/main/?page_id=522 . you could try to knock off a few of those over the next...

    Is my fermentation stuck?

Hey Randy, Randy here, You might want to read my last thread. I had the same problem. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f39/will-yeast-wake-up-208627/ Good luck :fro:

    Will yeast wake up?

Might have some what of an answer to this. In my case I added the extract to the pot of boiling water with the flame on, which caused some scorching on the bottom. When I mentioned this to the owner of my LHBS he said that when this happens it caramelizes some of the sugars and caramelized...
