Still fermenting after 12 days? First AG batch..

Its white labs, Belgian Wit Ale yeast, WLP400. Just dumped it right in there no starter. I kinda thought the White labs was in a nutrient or something? Try and keep it at 70 degrees. after a week, I let the temps settle to 67/68 because I was letting my Rye (in the carboy next to it)clear out.

Still fermenting after 12 days? First AG batch..

Need a little help with my Blue moon clone... This is my first all grain kit I brewed on Dec 29and my OG was 1.057.. Seems high to me? I have a 10 gal round with SS braid and I fly sparged. Tasted great, very sweet. So I continued on... It has been a vigorous ferment, and 13 days later it's...

Witbier Austin Homebrew's Blue Moon Clone (AG)

This is my first all grain kit I brewed on Dec 29and my OG was 1.057.. Seems high to me? I have a 10 gal round with SS braid and I fly sparged. Tasted great, very sweet. So I continued on... It has been a vigorous ferment, and 13 days later it's still bubbling every 5 seconds or so. But I want...

    Snow

On a beautiful July evening, my uncle and I had night brew session (too hot to brew that day). We had a june bug fly into the boil, we didn't even realize it till we were draining into the fermenter. "June Bug Cream Ale" turned out great! It's now a key ingredient every time we brew... J/K on...

    Lazy Man Sparge

    Lazy Man Sparge

F=P*A 2.31'=1psi Flow Rate = PSI / Mash "Resistance" Now I'm really confused...force..pressure?? Is this pressure on the grain or the outer walls of your mash tun? Im thinking that the force(weight) of the water is all(or like 95-99%) going to the mash tun walls versus the grain...

Thats true, I'm just trying to stir up some ideas... Pun intended!

    Lazy Man Sparge

I think that as long as the grain bed is completely saturated or surrounded with water, the force is kind of distributed throughout. But if the grain is not completely saturated, then it would increase the force on the bottom.. I'm no fluid dynamics expert, this is only my guess!! Can you...

    Braid to Stainless false bottom

How do people do this wrong? I am beating the crap out of my SS braid and I'm thinking of putting something inside to help strengthen it. I read a suggestion to twist a SS wire into a spring and insert into braid. Anybody use this, or have a good suggestion? I was thinking of getting a false...

    Bad Airlock?

Did you only switch the airlocks or did you switch the orange caps too? Were they both bubbling at some time during your fermentation? I had an instance with a white stopper (instead of the orange cap), if the airlock was just a little wet, it would slowly slip out of the stopper. After that, I...

    Dry Hopping

First off, I see you are experienced with ipas and hops so I am NOT questioning your techniques, I am only curious about them. - Do you suppose DHing in your primary for awhile then transferring, has a benefit over transferring first and using that time in the secondary to clear? - I am now...

An affordable option to building an all electric system?

OK, sorry. I read that your dad was a licensed electrician, everytime. I also read in your first post you wanted the electric experts to take a look??? Maybe thats where we are all confused... Anyway, other homebrewers may be looking for answers in this forum-homebrewers who are not related to...

An affordable option to building an all electric system?

My .02, If you are going to do something like this, I would put a sub-panel in your brew area. Sounds like alot, but its really not that hard(depending on how far away your home panel is). If you are going to get electricity out there adding a small sub-panel is very easy. They make a "Hot tub"...
