    The only reason I haven't is because the only square buckets I've see are cat litter ones. The fact that it's cat litter ain't the problem, it's the fact that the litter is constantly scratching like sand paper the inside of those buckets.

    If you steep that wheat in say,, a gallon of 154 degree water for say... 30-45 min you have just mashed it. Then maybe add another gallon or two of water and add that dme. Get it up to boil and add maybe a 1/2 ounce of those home grown hops.

    Brewing wize I don't think I'd change anything. I'm still using the same eq that I have been for 20 years. But the two pieces of eq I would do right from the beginning would be a water filtration and my ferment chamber.

    Add new wort to old yeast cake?

    I do this all the time. I make a 3 gallon mild in the big fermenter. Rack that beer into mini keg and immediately rack the imperial stout wort onto the full cake. Mind you, this causes a nuclear powered fermentation to start almost instantly. Keep Carboy near floor drain for the first day.
