    Official Broken Hydrometer Count

How do I get rid of Hopshot residue in my tubing?!?

I don't have any experience with hopshot residue. I do clean my tubing with dish soap and a cotton ball. You can tear off a piece of the cotton ball, roll it till it fits inside the tube, then push it through with hot water. Sent from somewhere using Home Brew

    Brining Turkey In Brew Pot

The boil kettle I started out with was aluminum and I had fried countless turkeys in it. Cleaned really well I never noticed anything turkey or oil in my batches. Surely using to brine in wouldn't cause any issues a good cleaning wouldn't take care of. Sent from somewhere using Home Brew

    Wow, that's good

No personal experience with this yeast. Danstar site claims moderate attenuation so it could very well be done. I'd give it some time though to see if it continues to fall. Didn't see a fermentation temp given so not sure if warming will help. To rouse the yeast just give it a gentle swirl...

    Thermometers

I bought one of the thermometers linked above. Have only brewed once with it but it seemed to work pretty well. It feels very well made, not cheap or flimsy.

Pot size in relation to efficiency

Yes. I mash in a 10 gallon cooler and boil in a keggle. So far I've only done 5 gallon batches. Sent from somewhere using Home Brew

    Carbonating in roto keg

New to brewing -- Keg Conversion / TIG Welding?

I cut kegs with an angle grinder and cutoff disc. I lucked up and my grinder has provisions for the handle on the back perpendicular to the disc. If you have a grinder you can cut perfect circles using the valve port in the center as a guide. I've even been cutting some for my lhbs and...

    Lavatools Thermowand

I bought the thermowand a couple weeks ago. Haven't had a chance to brew with it yet but it feels very well made. It is smaller than I thought it would be but hopefully it'll work well for brewing. I like that it uses a common easily replaceable battery. Sent from somewhere using Home Brew

    Nottingham attentuation of 83%?

I've brewed the centennial blonde twice now. First batch started at 1.040, second at 1.039. Both have finished at 1.006 with nottingham. I'm still having a temp loss issue during mash so maybe that's part of the problem. Both batches turned out better than store bought beer, at least to me...

How many gallons of BierMuncher's Centennial Blonde have been brewed?

    I've done two 5 gallon batches. 5455+10=5465

    Beginner Apfelwein question

I made a batch last spring. It was very slow but finished around .992 iirc. It has been in a keg since early may and is just now what I'd call good. Sent from somewhere using Home Brew

    S04 Yeast slow??

I've only used it once but it was very fast. Have you checked SG? Weather changes or temp changes can cause off gassing. I'd bet it's done but there's only one way to tell.

First attempt at BIAB, have a couple questions.

From what I've read biab can be full volume mash or use more traditional mash volumes. I mash with a bag in a cooler at more traditional volumes then dunk sparge in my boil kettle. So far it's worked very well. How big is your boil kettle? Do you have a cooler you could mash in? With biab and...
