Dark color beer using only Maris Otter

Niceee. I recently did a 20% Barleywine with a 2 hour boil. Started with a bright ruby color and ended with a deep amber. It's in the bottles now. I'm really tempted to pop one open... But I digress. My suggestion is to either decoct or boil longer, as many people above have already suggested.

My first mead: A tutorial of Mistakes.

Yeah, the yeast choice is definitely going to affect the final outcome. I prefer my mead to be sweet, so I like to use the Wyeast 4184 Sweet Mead Yeast, but we also have the dry version if you don't like your mead terribly sweet (although I will say the sweet version is one of our best sellers)...

Ah yes, after much deliberation, we have decided not to offer flat-rate on grains anymore. We tried to offer it for awhile, but we were losing too much money due to shipping costs, even with our business discounts from our carriers. It was a tough decision, especially since we want to offer the...

Buying liquid yeast online in summer?

In the Summer season, we generally suggest ordering dry yeast, or make a starter with the liquid yeast that you order. That being said, most suppliers are putting cold packs inside each order with liquid yeast. Some suppliers charge for this service, but ours is complementary, and we will...

Hey There! So sorry about that! There was a miscommunication about the relief valves with our developers, and they listed the valves as manual, when they are actually static. We advertised them as manual, so we can send you entirely new lids that have manual relief valves at no charge! Hope...

Hey There! Thanks for the feedback! I'm at an absolute loss for words as to why that situation happened with the shipping. My only guess is that since it was a special deal that we have not done before, something must have messed up with the coding when our developers created it in our...

Hey there! Sorry about that! Our customer service rep says he responded to the original email, but apparently our ticket software didn't send it through. He says he was able to get in contact with you and resolve the issue. Please let us know if that is not the case. Happy Brewing and Cheers!

Hmm wtf is going on in this carboy

I'm on board with this, that's just weird. It's likely some break material combined with yeast rafts/etc., and some stratification... but man, I've never seen anything that looks like that. It's probably fine though, just let it ride and see how it smells/tastes!
