    NB Plinian Legacy questions

Definitely needed the tube! Fermented with 45 seconds of pure o2 and a 1.5L starter (Wyeast 1056) Had full kreus and insane blowoff within about 10 hours- it is still bubbling like a boiling kettle after 3 days in the carboy.

    NB Plinian Legacy questions

Brewing this tonight with a 2L starter of 1056. I'll let you know if the blowoff was necessary in a couple days here :-) Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    NB Plinian Legacy questions

About to brew this- I have an 8 gal brew kettle. The instructions say it is a 6 gal yield (instead of 5) due to the massive hop additions, so I am a bit confused about how to go about this as the NB recipes always assume you are doing a partial boil starting with 2.5 gallons- 1. Should I...

My 6 tap mini fridge kegerator build

I was just looking into keezers again actually- my first instinct was to build one , but my buddy had that mini fridge and he only wanted 30 bucks for it so I figured I would give it a shot. It worked really well for my ferm chamber build, and the vast majority of the materials outside of the...

My 6 tap mini fridge kegerator build

I used r7.5 due to the fact it is the same width as the 2x4's I used for the frame- making a nice flush insulation when wedged between the plywood and the inside. Add the wood outside and I should be around a 10 rating I imagine. The bottom is insulated underneath the FRP from the right side...

My 6 tap mini fridge kegerator build

Yeah- I insulated the top all the way across the top of the mini fridge. I ran out of silicone yesterday- I got almost all the seams except the top and the right hand side done with what I had. I have a can of "good stuff" too- might try that on some spots tomorrow. When I unplugged the...

My 6 tap mini fridge kegerator build

Hahaha! I will try both ways and see what works best. What should I use to insulate with? Made some more progress the last 2 days- Installed the two thermaltake USB fans: Sealed the seams with silicone: And cut and mounted the top: I still need to do a minor amount of...

My 6 tap mini fridge kegerator build

Wow. 40fan is like a Jedi! The total depth is 23.75"- pretty darn close estimate! I went and made a diagram too lol- kinda came to the same conclusion. I wasn't considering that the outer 2 faucets could overhang the airspace as long as the center of the tower was clear- that should leave me...

My 6 tap mini fridge kegerator build

Thank you! I have 2 thermaltake fans (USB) that will be pushing the air around from the mini fridge- unfortunately I already purchased a stainless cylinder style tap tower so I am kinda stuck using it. I need to buy 2 more for 6 taps total, I suppose I could get a 3 tap tower and run 5 kegs...

My 6 tap mini fridge kegerator build

Thank you for all the kind words! Worked on it a bit today- Cut the back panel and jigged out a hole for the recessed plug: Wired up the STC with a bit of help from number40fan (thanks again). Test ran it and it works like a champ! Close up of the recessed outlet in the...

    STC1000 help- odd outlet

Yeah I thought that seemed over complicated for what I was trying to do. Regardless I appreciate the reply! Hooked it all up and it works like a charm! Thanks again you two! Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    STC1000 help- odd outlet

So I am wiring up an STC for a kegerator build, and found a nifty 2 outlet plug in with 2 USB ports to run the 2 USB fans I need all in the same outlet. I use one of these in my fermentation chamber for the same purpose but I have that one wired up to run constantly and I need these to only...

    Fermcap-S not working for me?

Thanks for the replies guys- I was not shaking it up before dropping it in, duh. I will try this tomorrow and also try using a bit more and see how I fare. Sometimes you just need someone to point out the obvious :smack:

    Fermcap-S not working for me?

So I got 2 bottles of this stuff in the mail about 3 brews ago, and was pretty excited to use it- in my starters especially but in my boils as well. I added 2 drops to all 3 starters prior to the boil, and still had to manage the boilover pretty regularly. I added 10 drops to the 5 gal...

My 6 tap mini fridge kegerator build

Started a build for a 6 corny kegerator using a 4.9 cu ft fridge I got on the cheap. I considered doing a keezer, as I am concerned about it being able to hold temp at 40 ish but I had pretty good luck with a similar build for my fermentation chamber which is about 60% larger with a smaller...

    fermentation chamber/workspace pics

I generally have it between 65 and 74 degrees for fermentation purposes, and at those temps the compressor only kicks on two to three times a day, which is not much at all. I cleared it out a couple weeks ago and cold crashed 5 gallons of California common at 38 for two days and it seemed to...
