    Lack of Carbonation

You're right. It ususally does work out. I just didn't want to give him some bad advice. He was so excited, he ran a warm bottle over to my house, just so he could open it in front of me to show me.

    Lack of Carbonation

Hey guys, Just an update. Taking the beers out of the fridge did the trick. He brought a beer over to my house last night and it was fully carbed. Thanks again.

    Lack of Carbonation

A friend of mine recently made a pale ale extract/steeping kit (his first). The primary and secondary fermentation went well, so did the bottling. The beer had bottle conditioned for 3 weeks, but when I opened one up, there was NO carbonation. I tried to determine what the cause is, and the...

    Drinking Technique

I'm a noob. Only have 5 batches under my belt, but from reading other posts, I think most folks would say try and leave the sediment in the bottle. But then I found this post: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f39/some-beers-you-supposed-drink-yeast-139029/

    chemical to peel labels

I use Wal-Mart's version of oxyclean. Put all of the empties in a cooler of water. The labels just fall off after a couple of hours. Then I clean the residue with a brillo pad. If the label doesn't come off, into the recycling bin it goes.

    holy crap!

Just to toss in my 2 cents, IPA's are not for everyone, but as your pallette expands, so will your taste for some of the more hop heavy beers. It may never be your first choice, but it might be something you pick up as an alternative to what you usually drink. Drinking Beer is a little...

ANOTHER Fing Stuck Fermentation!!! What in the F&^*

Just a quick question. I am also dealing with a stuck ferment right now on a cream stout. Started it 3 weeks ago, and primary fermentation looked great. I just checked last night, and the gravity is still at 1.030. I have a pack of Munton dry yeast in the fridge. Can I just pitch that, or...

How do you guys do it?!?

I brewed my first batch about 2 months ago, and made the fatal error of waiting until it was done to start another batch. Now I bottled a batch on Sunday, AND brewed another batch. I'm trying to build up my pipeline, so that I always have some Homebew around. I've found that it really is WAY...
