    Kind of confused

SO. I havent had a lot of time to get into the whole yeast thing (and I will). I want to do an ESB at around 1.040 SG. Mr Malty says i need 148B cells. I have a smack pack of Wyeast 1318. Could I do anything tonight to get ready to pitch around 5 pm tomorrow? My stirplate came in if that...

    My Brew System

Im using them for full on and off. I do have 2 way belimo valves that are a little bit of a pain. It takes 90 seconds to full swing them so I do 10% increments (9 seconds) and it seems to work "ok" per brew. I do reset them to 0 or full when I can. I only change their flow for sparging which at...

    My Brew System

fyi, this system didnt work out the best with all of the solenoids. They go stuck open due to particles in the line (single piece of grain). I changed the valves out and started a new syetm https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/lazy-automated-brew-system-labs-204758/ It uses some solenoids where it...

Want to get into starters and saving my own yeast

There is so much info. I watched on how to save yeast and make a started. Is it that easy? Stirplates or any other odd equipment I might need. If I could save on yeast everytime ($$) i would be happy.

    Lazy Automated Brew System (LABS)

Im outside of philly and get really cold water. Im actually going to change the BK coil for a chiller plate so I could always dunk that in ice water if need be. I want to keep cleanup down. I also hate coils in my kettles. The BK one just gets so messy. The HLT will be fine since the outside is...

Your right they arent aweful just the wrong solenoids for a beer making system. Just checked out your brewery. It looks awesome.

They were diaphragm type solenoids. Any piece of grain in the system will keep them from closing. They need 12V @2.7Amp which is quite high and they could not stop any back pressure. They were $30 cheaper but I needed 10 of them with a bunch of swing check valves compared to 5 3-way valves. They...

Im going with a 3 way version. B315+TR24-3-T. Slow swing, 90 seconds but it's beer. it doesnt have to be fast! It has the largest CV of the 1/2 valves and uses 24vac (which I have plenty of)

    Lazy Automated Brew System (LABS)

I learned a bunch from my old system and am now redesigning it. What do you all think?
