    By reducing the crystal , how does that affect the final product? More / Less body? Darker / Lighter ? Sorry if these are dumb questions. Used similar grain bill in last brew , beer tastes great but doesnt have much head.

    Ok so I should cut back on the crystal malt, it was all a bit rushed, I'll give it more time tomorrow. As for the odd hop numbers, yes, I'm using up leftovers, I'll bear in mind what you said, maybe try and even things out. Will using Chinook or Centennial make any noticeable difference?

    So we have my first all grain IPA and have to say it has turned out well. Nice hoppy aroma, not too heavy, more than pleased with this first effort. If it was served to me in a bar I'd be happy to drink it. Next time will look for a bit more carbonation and will have to read up on how to...

    Update : So far so good, dry hopped today, will be in for 4 days till Sunday, when we bottle up. OG was 1.052, came down nicely to FG 1.012,quite pleased with that, already a great aroma before dry hopping. Really looking forward to drinking some of this.
