    Atlantic Bitter - ESB

Ok, for comparison, here is my running Propeller ESB "clone". Every time I brew I end up tweaking something. I really just aim to brew a great ESB and don't necessarily follow my clone recipe to the T. I personally use flaked barley instead of flaked wheat but I've read somewhere that...

    Atlantic Bitter - ESB

Hi bendit, I've been brewing a Propeller inspired ESB for a while now too. I'll post more details later since I'm out on my phone now. FYI they use Ringwood yeast. I haven't used Ringwood yet but I've used wyeast London ESB and it was awesome.

I wish I could judge the SRM but this stuff is really, really dark. I think my last batch was darker.

Best Heating Method Inside Small Chest Freezer

Paint can heater, google it. Its a light bulb of your wattage choice mounted inside an aluminum paint can. Simple build. I've been using one in my ferm chamber for a long time and it works great, nice and gentle heat.

20 lb of sugar and a jar of yeast nutrient

Hey everyone. A month or so ago I made a couple pounds of sugar #5 and it turned out really, really well. I was very happy with the complexity of flavour. Candi Syrup Starting to Boil by Hot Pepper Daddy, on Flickr Candi Syrup Almost Done by Hot Pepper Daddy, on Flickr Nice...

    Pure O2 = extreme lag

If you're usising dry yeast then aeation is going to have less of an impact since the dry yeast contains enough lipids required for the cell walls or whatever.

    Water Volume Measuring Stick/Rod

I did that as well and also put a 90 degree elbow on the top with a notch in it to rest on the edge of my BK. I marked it in 2 litre increments from 18-50L.

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

Well I guess mine's done enough to finally post. It's been a work in progress for over a year. I got it up and running a few months ago and have done 5 brews on it so far. -Indoor all electric. -One vessel, BIAB (Brew In A Bag). -One pump for mash recirculation, etc. -400 CFM fan. -All...

"Oktoberfest" style ale, mash temp & yeast advice needed

I'd certainly keep the melanoiden malt, I've used it at 5% of the grain bill and it's great even at that amount. Since you're using light minuch you could get away with using a little more and could reduce the pils if you wanted. I would also get rid of the carabrown but if you've used it...

    BIAB & Boil Pot size

I would but my ceramic stove top has a hard time keeping that much up to a good boil. Otherwise, good plan, and it certainly helps with efficiency. I'm working on a basement brewery so this setup is only temporary (although dragging on, lol).
