    Sweet Water IPA

I adjusted my original recipe based on some feedback from an assistant BM. This one is extremely close, but I am not ready to call it cloned yet. My best guess is the flame out may be a little much, b/c my latest seemed a bit more grassy than the original. Being in Atlanta, I get this beer...

Any Deviant Dale's IPA Fans Out There?

That looks like the plain pale ale recipe. I doubt they double that much crystal in this beer

    Sweetwater Sch'wheat recipe

Dang! I knew I was close but not exact. I used centennial and a 70/30 2row/wheat split with a mash at 148F. Side by side, it was very close but mine was not as aromatic. Thanks HBD! Wish you guys were still selling it. Only good American wheat out there

    Sweet Water IPA

Do you have a clone recipe? I think the color and malt flavor/mouth feel is spot on. I just brewed it again with some Simcoe in place of summit and got closer. I just am not sure i taste golding in this beer... Maybe they add some to balance the simcoe bitterness some... What does your hop...

    Sweet Water IPA

No one ever responded... SW has changed this recipe a couple of times due to hop availability. I do know they aim to make it an all simcoe beer but have used CTZ at times in the past. Tasting the beer right now, I would say you should target a mash around 152, since there is too much body and...

    Sweetwater motorboat?

The assistants Sweetwater are great, but Freddy has NEVER been forthcoming at all, which is his right. There is a reason Sweetwater does not get any love from the Brewing Network or any other national pubs. The owner is a jerk and has something against home brewers even though we probably buy...

Growing hops in the South (esp. Georgia)

I am just south of Atlanta, and the Cascade and Horizon has done well. They have about 4 hours of direct sunlight per day (from about 2 - 6 pm.). I have heard the cascade flavor/aroma is way different than northwest grown hops. Anyone that can confirm?

Cider recipe (similar to strongbow dry imo)

Just a quick follow up on this thread. I have now brewed this recipe about a dozen time for my wife and she loves it. The key on the vanilla is to use good quality vanilla extract. We brought some back from the Dominican and it was cheap... Cider turned out great but you vanilla flavor was a...

    Hoppy Wheat Beer?

I was going on a limb and just plugged some numbers into Beersmith for a brew I am doing next weekend. Surprised at how close this is to some of the recipes on the board. Has anyone had luck in competitions with hoppy wheat beers? 5# 2 Row 3# German Wheat 1# Munich .25 Warrior (15.8% AA)...

    2-Below clone anyone?

I honestly believe there is some honey in this beer at the finish. I would almost bet they use Tupelo honey, hence the name 2 below....

Brewer's Best Falconer's Flight Extra IPA

WLP007, WLP001, Wyeast 1056, and S-05 are all great American IPA yeast. Please post your tasting notes for the Falconer Flight... I ordered a pound since it has a blend of my favorite hops.

    Equipment Help Needed

Guys, I know I have been brewing long enough yet still ask some stupid questions... But on the side of equipment, my system is very simple. By that I mean it consist of the following: - 1 Banjo Burner - 1 Cooler for a Mash Tun - A Saw Horse to hold the mash tun - 1 Keggle So I am...

    SA Noble Pils

I would go with Carapils Dextrine instead of Crystal... The Carapils will give you the head retention you look for in a pilsner. I am no Jamil, but I don't think the small amount of pale malt give you much here. Someone else might disagree, but maybe best going about 60-40 pilsner to pale...

    SA Noble Pils

Well I went ahead and tried doing this beer with the following... Not sure how close I am going to get. Had to sub Vanguard in a few areas... 9.6# Pilsner .65# Carapils Dextrine .25# Aromatic OG: 1.054 60 Min Hop Additions: .5 Saaz, .5 Tettnang, .25 Spalt, .25 Vanguard 15 Min...

Cider recipe (similar to strongbow dry imo)

I have not seen montrachet yeast at my homebrew shop. Would the WYeast Cider yeast or Champagne yeast dry it out enough?

    Grains for IIPA

So, there is no need to add the other yeast? I was told by a guy in my club that it would be vital since this will be a +7.5% beer. But he also is big on quick fermentations (2-3 days). I will just use the yeast cake and see how it goes. I can always toss in more yeast if the gravity does...

    Grains for IIPA

Question.... My homebrew shop brew master and I concocted an experiment for an imperial IPA and I was hoping to get some opinions from those of you who have used a lot of German grains. Here is the mash. -13 Pounds of German Pale Malt -1 Pound of Light German Munich -1 Pound of German...
