    Cranberry Mead

I did a cranberry mead last year. Still have a few bottles. Its wonderful I boiled 4# of cranberries before adding them to the primary. Boiled, like you would if you were making cranberry sauce. Simmer until they all burst. It gave me a nice cranberry hint and light pink color to 5 gallons of...

2015 Minnesota Mashout Opens Tomorrow! (Formerly Upper Mississippi Mashout)

I know what you mean. I live in the cities, but grew up on the range. I get the same way when people say "I'm heading up north for the weekend" and they mean Forest Lake.....

2015 Minnesota Mashout Opens Tomorrow! (Formerly Upper Mississippi Mashout)

Most likely. Ive never entered in a competition before. I am just curious what other people who "know" things think of it. But I do think its a solid RIS. I'm pretty happy with it.

Losing carbonation when counter pressure filling

The beer gun and a CP filler have different PSI needs for filling from what I read. The CP filler can use standard PSI for bottling because the filling speed is set my releasing the pressure from the bottle with the valve. The beer gun is merely dumping beer into a bottle, so lower PSI is needed...

Losing carbonation when counter pressure filling

I looked through this sub, and didnt see anything that helped me with this question. When I counter pressure fill my bottles from my keg, they are almost always much flatter than the kegged version. I usually bottle a portion of my keg, just for ease of sharing. It also allows me to have a...

One of the more creative Beers I've ever seen...

I heard it was pretty good. I didnt get to slide down there to try it though. It sold out pretty quick. I believe the beer was sold as a fund rasier for the lake conservation club and to raise awareness of the ZM's getting in Minnetonka. Not to mention Excelsior makes some damn good beer too.

    Bray's One Month Mead

Without reading the whole 50 pages looking for the answer (yes, ive read 99% of the thread in the past, just not while thinking about this question) Can you make a bochet with the BOMM method? I cant see why not, It might just take more time for the flavors to work themselves out, maybe?

    Lump Charcoal in a Beer?

I dont think that lump would provie much flavor at all to beer. It would be more of a flavor filter I would think. All of the moisture and other organice compounds are driven out by heat, not by direct contact with flame. It wont be a toasted oak flavor, those flavors are gone. Essentially you...

    Greenlee punch in a keggle

Another Greenlee punch user. Its awesome. I burned up a couple unibits before I broke down and bought one. You can have a nice clean hole in your keggle about 30 seconds.
