    am I stuck??

Wow, ok, that was quick. The OG was 1.052, FG calculated is 1.015-1.018, right now (10 minutes ago), I read out at 1.020! It just finished that quick I guess. Now for a good few weeks resting, as it is cloudy as sin! Thanks all, Orlando

So... I never liked IPAs until...

Same here, it's kinda like the sour candies. I never understood it. Oh well, it's not like there aren't 1,000,000+ other types of homebrews we can make! :mug: Orlando

    am I stuck??

I brewed a 5 gallon batch on the 20th, within 18 hours I had a full fermentation going, nice cake on top and all. By the 22nd it was completely dead in the airlock. It still has the cake on top even now. I have swirled the bucket, but no activity pick up. It was pitched with US-05, dry, and...

    The Mystique Of Bottling

Different color caps for each brew, there are a bunch of colors, I never have enough to end up with doubles.

    The Mystique Of Bottling

I bottle, it's a PITA, I would much rather have a four tap keezer, but I need to get that past the CEO of my household. I think if you had 3 or more taps, you would have plenty of selection, without any need for cleaning, rinsing, filling, capping, etc, etc, etc. Orlando

Official 2010 "Pay it Forward" Thread

Wouldn't that kind of be against the spirit of the thread? Just sayin...He has a good shot of getting it, I doubt home brewers are gonna knock my door down for a MGD tap handle.

Official 2010 "Pay it Forward" Thread

If it were to go unclaimed, you can have it for free, I want to do this to "pay it forward". :mug: I figure I will give it a few days, then get back to you if no one claims it. Orlando

Official 2010 "Pay it Forward" Thread

OK, I know this may be asking a lot, but if you offered something that wasn't taken a while ago, could you please repost it? I am trying to follow the thread, but not everyone is putting the "who claimed it" in the same post, and it is getting very confusing... I have one of these...

    Keezer build questions

    Keezer build questions

quoted from kegworks.com: Most of our kits come with a 5-pound steel CO2 Tank. With this size CO2 Tank, you can serve about 5-7 half kegs of beer. Welding supply companies, fire extinguisher supply companies, and gas dealers can fill CO2 tanks. Look under "Gas" in the yellow pages in your local...

The "What's wrong with my" Apfelwein

Hey everyone, So I started some of Ed Wort's Apfelwein the last week of December. For about 3 weeks it has been crystal clear dark gold so I decided to go for the bottling. Now, this is the first thing I have had in a Carboy (always used the bucket fermenters up until now), so I bought an...

    Apfelwein fermenting issues

So I set my Apfelwein on the 19th and added the pack of yeasties, but no matter how much I washed the funnel I could not get it all down. My batch is 2.5 gallons, so I hoped more then half the pack made it in. and decided to relax and drink a brew. Afterwords I capped it and waited, it is now...

Nothing wrong, just a question (specific gravity)

I want to thank you all for all your tips. Today at 7.5 days since pitch I checked with a hydro reading. Came out at 1.012 (recipe called for 1.011). Did a little calculating, since my OG was higher then the recipe called from by a little bit, my ABV is going to be 5.7 (recipe stated 5.2)...

Nothing wrong, just a question (specific gravity)

Wow, So I was all ready to wait my 72 hours (per the stone cold led pipe locks) and here we are about 16 hours in and there is bubbling action in the air lock! Woo Hoo, the magic of beer. :mug: Thanks for the help on my first batch guys, I can't wait (but I will) to try it. Orlando
