    Kegging: you all were right

I never realized how much I disliked bottling until I got kegs. I think that is a strong statement, but no I only bottle to give away to others, although I have started filling 4 grolsch from each batch before kegging, as I normally end up with a little more than 5 gallons and don't like...

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

Have to agree with the hamms. Bought it because it was 8.29 a case. Didn't taste too bad (Before I knew better). Could not figure out for a few months what was causing my indigestion. Have not had any since. Rhinelander is probably the worst tasting I have had...

To reuse yeast cake or not?

I almost always reuse my yeast cake, bucket and all. I will do 4 batches in a row, right on top of one another.

    Barley Crusher issue

I had the same problem suddenly a few brews ago, probably 60+ batches in. roller spun with the drill no problem but no grain went through. I switched to the hand crank, same problem. I remembered one of these posts and grabbed the air compressor and blew out around the rollers. No problems...

    pin-lock and ball-lock

I picked pin lock. I bought clearance kegs from cornykeg.com. I figured as long as got enough of one type, I would be OK....

What is your idea of the perfect Homebrew store?

How about one where they started a brewery, and will open a 40 tap tasting room next door?

    Brewing with newborns

My daugher did not slow me down. I think the first few weeks we were too tired to do anything, but eventually it gets better. Now, i brew when mom is gone, and I have the kid. First, with an AG and a cooler mash tun, it takes me about 15-20 minutes to get my mash going. Start that at about...

Why is it always "lawnmower" beer?

What about chainsaw juggling beer. What about fishing beer? Long meeting at work beer?

    Cheap Cornys

I think the shipping was honest. It was a little high in my book, but still a deal compared to local. I ordered 4 at a time, so it was a fairly large box. Compared to the $30 a keg locally it still was a great deal...

    Cheap Cornys

I bought 8 kegs from them earlier this year. 4 clearance, 4 normal. Really happy with all. Would do business with them in a heartbeat...

    Spare co2 line?

Thanks for the replies. I will add the extra line (unless I decide to go with 4 taps). I wanted to make sure my effort to add the line was worth it...

    Spare co2 line?

Anyone else keep a spare co2 line hooked to their manifold for charging kegs, or do you just unhook from the other kegs? I currently have a spare but want to add another keg on tap and need to add another port to the manifold to keep the spare. Also, do you keep a spare disconnect and picnic...

Things that come out of the SWMBO's mouth!

I actually started brewing to see if my SWMBO was the one. After the second brew she made me get a propane burner. Now she encourages by brewing, and almost drinks the beer. I poured her a 4 oz last night of a cream ale I made for her, and she responded with "why such a big one"... I...

    Wisconsin problems like Oregon...

Hmm concerning. I want to keep up on this. I am not involved with my local club, but I know they have served at some beer fests in the past...I will contact my legislators as long as they are in the state :-)

    Bicycle bottle opener

I use my time pedals. Works great. Also have the tuggnuts on my karate monkey. I guess the sprocket would work great. Mostly for MTBers after the ride.
