Ranco ETC 111000 thermowell options for fermentation, what are they?

I also tape the probe to the side of the bucket... works great. A harshly used keg dip tube may be cheaper than the McMaster Carr link... still need the tools and DIY to get it done... I am going to try and find dry ice, I want to drill a stopper out for a 1/2 arcrylic diptube....

    tubing-less copper pickup thingymajig

Dump that male adapter and get a compression fitting. Dump the compression fitting sleeve and go with 2 o-rings from bLowes plumbing to seal that to the keggle wall. Pull from the center and move outward until your comfortable with the amount of wort left behind. Don't fear the trub...

    12 Dollar Sanke Fermenter

This looks cool... My buddy in Texas tried this... I think he was successful but I have to ask... Is an air tight seal really that needed so you can watch an airlock bubble? Nasties fall down and in not up n over the edge. Does a fermentation benefit from the back pressure? I think not...

The cure for your short hose troubles

Interesting idea... I know a guy who knows a guy who saw the equipment at his cousins neighbors house while over for a birthday party for a local retiree... I'm gonna make a couple calls...

StarSan - How long is a batch effective?

I've gone 6 months and I top up my sanitizer solution. Distilled water is the ticket and store in a keg. Use a jumper to move keg to keg. Spray bottle to spritz the bucket internals... small bottle of star san will last many years...

    Keg to Keg jumper.

My jumper is about 2' and will reach a keg at the back of the kegerator and fill a keg sitting just outside the kegerator. Length doesn't matter unless who's been around a while then the girth is really what they need anyhow...

    Got wood...now with pictures!

Nice looking setup.. couple questions though.. The pump inlet appears to be on top, I find it much easier to prime if pump inlet is on bottom with a waste gate/port on top of the pump just prior to the ball valve. You may suffer priming issues if this is correct. For the cost of all...

I can't believe how hard drilling a keg is

Weld the coupler in place... :) work hardening of SS due to high heat during the drilling process sucks. Lots of cool lubricant needed constantly while drilling..

1/2 inch copper for the Whirlpool

Can you give me an idea of what you did to make the return adjustable?

    copper wire?

Using my Harbor Freight drill press (which turned out several great pine wood derby cars) I fastened a jig to help streamline some drilling. I then drilled 3/8" holes every .75", then cut 20 pieces of a 3/8" wood dowel. I then inserted the first 2 dowels and started weaving some 8 gauge...

    Yeast Cake and Amylase Emzyme

I'm about to go keg 10 gallons of Jiller Lite (miller lite hybrid threads) and I added Amylase Enzyme to the secondary. OG 1.032 FG 1.007 add enzyme and down to 1.000 nice n dry. Do you think the amylase is used up or do you think it's prevalent in the yeast cake and should be tossed...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

Yes first 2 batches were 5 G each... Sample taste test by SWMBO didn't fair so well, I insisted she take a few more good swigs... Let's just say it didn't take long to kick the keg... Rinse repeat same effect. Since I'm out of 2010 Mt Hood (home grown) already, I'll try cascade next...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

On the third batch scaled to 11G.. Used homegrown Mt Hood as the hop of choice. Used average numbers for the variety.

How to Triple Hop a Miller Lite Clone!

I hear ya, now about the Mash tun concerns.... The Keggle with my valve's positioning needs a good 3 Gallons to get a proper flow. I didn't have enough grain to do this with a 1.25 : 1 ratio. I should be good with a 10 gallon batch... I might just do the brew in a bag for this one...
