Anyone else having trouble getting their Blichman pots?

I ordered a 55 gal pot from home brewers warehouse in early april and still have not received the dang thing! I have called almost every week but keep getting the same story: that these pots were on back order and now it is that Blichman is over committed. They won't tell me when it is coming...

    Pellet vs whole hops

What do you think creates more mess in the boil: pellet or whole hops? I say pellet cause when I boil with pellet I am always scraping the green scum off the sides of the pot back into wort. What do you think?

    Yeah for Sunday brewing

Always love the helping hand! The HWMSO ;) helped too yesterday by carrying large pots of water around the basement. So nice. This batch is for our wedding coming up in July. We have one more batch to brew for the wedding and then we can mark that off our list.

    New nano comming to KCMO

Ok. I have been working away on the old business plan and am stuck at packaging costs. I have looked around a little bit but the prices that I am seeing can't be what other breweries are paying. Right not they are almost 70% of the cost! Geez! So I am appealing to any nano/micro breweries out...

    Full-Volume BIAB brewing with photos

Back to the no chill cube. This technique is foreign to me and I was wondering why one would do this. People spend lots of money trying to get a good cold break and you cool slowly overnight. Your setup gave me an idea for our brew station that we are building, so thanks for the inspiration!

    Hello from Overland Park/Kansas City!

We understand about the learning curve with going electric. It makes me thankful that my partner can understand those things.

    aerating DURING fermentation?

You might be confusing hot side aeration of the sparge with aeration of the wort after cooling to pitching temperature. The wort will not oxidize at room temperature, but will at higher temps like mash temps. However, aeration of the wort before pitching allows the yeast to get to a nice colony...

    Aeration system

I have read that you can only get so much oxygen dissolved into wort with the air stone. Which is what I am currently using. You need a higher concentration with higher gravity beers so the yeast get a good start. Be careful though, it depends on the strain but this level of aeration will cause...

    New nano comming to KCMO

I went to school in flagstaff AZ. They have this awesome place called the Pay 'n Take which is like our option 2 though they didn't brew any beer but did have an espresso machine be hide the bar as well and a very small patio. Aaron and I would like to bring that style here to KC, and I think...

    New nano comming to KCMO

Yes, that is a good idea too. Hmmmm.... I have to run it by my partner and see what he thinks.

    New nano comming to KCMO

A very good question! The basic idea started when Aaron and I were down in the basement in mid feb with me near the opened back door boiling away and he at his computer concerned that I was going to kill us both if I don't keep that door open (too cold though). So he started coming up with an...

    New nano comming to KCMO

So I guess that I will start with our current status. Aaron is the brains of the setup and I am the brewer. Kinda funny as he was the one that really started this. Our current status is that we have almost all of the pieces in the basement for the brew station sans the pot (has been on the way...
