    dry hopping NEIPA?

I think I should start researching things before I do it. For some reason I like to do it then research of I did the right thing or not. :ban: So, I brewed 10 gallons of a NEIPA last night and had noticeable fermentation this morning. I have only dry hopped on the secondary before but...

Can you help me save my bad beer?

Thanks for your help with the brew. The beer before I added the raspberries was brewed fine, just super bland. Adding the raspberries has been a great addition. My wife likes it a lot and so did a few guest that stopped by. It is certainly geared for the females but I had a few glasses if it...

Can you help me save my bad beer?

Do you have to boil the juice or just dump it in?

Can you help me save my bad beer?

I like to idea of the bag of frozen raspberries. How much tart do you think I am going to get from that? I also like the adding a few oz of citra hops to give it a acidity bump. The grain is very close to a pale ale that I do that's solid. Maybe I should do both?

Can you help me save my bad beer?

I brewed a blond a while back and it really didn't turn out too good IMO. I mostly brew pale ales so I used a pale ale malt as my base with some other caramelized malt as well. It turned out to be very bland with only Carmel as the flavor. A little too sweet for my taste. I was going to dump...

Do I have enough yeast for a 10g batch

Thank you. I feel fairly dumb now but at least my final gravity is better than I thought. It read 1.012. I am not sure if you can check kegged brew like that but my wheat read 1.010. I completely forgot about that. I've taken a couple of years off of brewing and I have only done a few...

Do I have enough yeast for a 10g batch

So far the two 10 gallon batches I have brewed have not turned out as well as I would have liked. I'm having a tough time with my final gravity. It is pretty high at 1.030, measured with a refractometer. With a post boil gravity of 1.055, I am under 4 % alcohol. I had the same problem with...

    Blichmann Therminator question

Digging this thread out from the grave. I purchased a blichmann therminator a few months ago when I upgraded to 10g batches and have used it 3 times. After each use, I rinse it out I with about 5 gallons of water and back flush the same amount. Then I submerge the terminator in a few gallons...

Do I have enough yeast for a 10g batch

It looks like I need to use two packs of yeast and do it in two steps. I still need to decant off the liquid after step one, right?

Do I have enough yeast for a 10g batch

Do I have enough yeast for a 10g batch

Thanks for your advice. I held off on the brew and went on vacation. While on vacation, I ordered me a 5000L flask and a 2000L flask, plus 3 lbs of dme and another pack of yeast. Time to do my first yeast starter. I guess I am going to use both packs of yeast and extra dme in the 5L flask...

Do I have enough yeast for a 10g batch

I've recently started doing 10g batches all grain and for yeast, I just buy 2 packs. This past order, I just bought one pack of yeast and was going to do a starter. Well the DME was left out and I was really wanting to brew tomorrow since I am going out of town in a couple of days and I wanted...

    Getting back in the hobby

Well it has been over a month and wanted to post and update. I brewed a blah Rye Pale Ale (5g) as a starter batch since it has been a while. I am glad I did. I made the bonehead mistake of adding grain and water to the mash tune without the false bottom. Needless to say, that sucked. I...

    Getting back in the hobby

That's actually where I ordered my kettle and plate chiller from. I'll look into ordering a few recipes from them again in the future. It is a little far away but maybe I just need to buy in bulk from them. Great idea. I have thought about stocking up in a lot of 2 row and other grains. I...

    Getting back in the hobby

Hello. I've been homebrewing since about 2007 but I took 1 1/2 years off when I found out I was having a second set of twins. (yes, that's right) I've been all grain brewing for many years now. My current set up is very simple and basic. 4 gallon kettle for HLT 10 gallon mast tun cooler w/...

Will this stand from Costco work

I was at Costco today and noticed this stand with 3 burners. It doesn't look like a bad deal but I am not 100% sure that it will hold the kettles. I can always build a wooden frame to hold it up if I need to. Does anybody own this? I wonder if it will work for 10g batches with some minor...

    Homebrew Stand from Gander Mtn

]I am looking for a brew stand that can handle 10 gallon batches and came across this one from Gander Mountain. Looks like a solid stand for about $200. I am sure I can figure out a way to get a third burner on there or just use a deep fryer burner. Has anybody used this stand as a brew...
